Change the minimum transaction fee, or at least obtain that value from the connected server?

Given that our mempool is empty this season, we could potentially reduce the minimum transaction rate to less than 1.0 vbyte. However, I believe the correct approach would be to obtain the value from the connected server itself.

The app already obtains its fee estimates through GDK. However, for Bitcoin singlesig wallets, GDK currently applies a minimum of 1 sat/vB before returning the connected Electrum server’s relay fee. This means a server advertising a lower minimum, such as 0.1 sat/vB, is still clamped to 1 sat/vB in the app.

We’ll keep this open as a feature request to support fees below 1 sat/vB when permitted by the connected server.
