security/fail2ban: missing asynchat python package

When installing fail2ban, python-312 is installed as dependency, but there is no more asynchat module in python 3.12.

Possible solutions:

• Use older python version as dependency. python-310 should work.
• Use newer version of fail2ban which uses asyncio instead

Other fail2ban problems:

• There is SVC manifest missing
• Fail2ban config default to iptables, pf should be used instead

I already spent half a day investigating where the problem lies. Unfortunately, here my skills ends. I'm unable to fix it myself.

I would like to investigate this issue. I plan to check the current fail2ban package in pkgsrc, verify which Python version it depends on, and try to reproduce the problem with the missing asynchat module in Python 3.12.

If I can confirm the cause, I will attempt to propose a fix or a possible patch.

I investigated this issue and noticed that pkgsrc currently packages fail2ban 1.0.2, while the latest upstream release is 1.1.0.

According to the upstream release notes, version 1.1.0 specifically adds support for Python 3.12 and 3.13, which should address the missing asynchat issue reported here.

It seems that updating the fail2ban package to 1.1.0 may resolve this issue. I would like to try preparing a package update for pkgsrc if that approach is acceptable.

I prepared a pkgsrc update to fail2ban 1.1.0 which should resolve the Python 3.12 asynchat issue.
