Multiplying particles by any amount — even just 1.1 — has a significant impact on their spread. For example, in the example video the particles should be forming a one-particle thick plane (wings) and perfect circle (halo). But once they are set to 1.1 multiply, the particle spread goes crazy, with the particles seeming to spawn over an entire block-wide space rather than their intended single planes. It occurs both with and without cleaner particles enabled, which should reduce randomness in particles.
