From 93c4a854cfc14adc1cfcc10f30abd9154b3b0308 Mon Sep 17 00:00:00 2001 From: Raphael Date: Sun, 1 Nov 2026 11:34:20 +0100 Subject: [PATCH 1/4] deps: add apus-protocol local path dependency Wires apus-protocol (sibling repo ../apus/rust/apus-protocol) into the workspace as a path dependency, and adds it plus serde_json as runtime dependencies of the taurus crate (serde_json moves from dev-only to a real dependency: exec.rs::load_flows_file uses it at runtime). Adds rcgen and time as dev-dependencies for the Apus integration test suite's in-process TLS certificate generation. --- Cargo.lock | 158 +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++-- Cargo.toml | 3 + crates/taurus/Cargo.toml | 4 + 3 files changed, 158 insertions(+), 7 deletions(-) diff --git a/Cargo.lock b/Cargo.lock index a203064..a3d1043 100644 --- a/Cargo.lock +++ b/Cargo.lock @@ -117,6 +117,60 @@ version = "1.0.104" source = "registry+https://github.com/rust-lang/crates.io-index" checksum = "330a5ed07fa54e4702c9d6c4174f74427fc0ef6e214bbd677ae50a5099946470" +[[package]] +name = "apus-protocol" +version = "0.1.0" +dependencies = [ + "base64 0.22.1", + "hmac", + "rustls", + "serde", + "serde_json", + "sha2", + "tokio", + "tokio-rustls", + "x509-parser", +] + +[[package]] +name = "asn1-rs" +version = "0.7.2" +source = "registry+https://github.com/rust-lang/crates.io-index" +checksum = "b7f43a50ac4fdca5df8e885c21b835997f0a1cdee65494a6847694a98652d9d8" +dependencies = [ + "asn1-rs-derive", + "asn1-rs-impl", + "displaydoc", + "nom", + "num-traits", + "rusticata-macros", + "thiserror", + "time", +] + +[[package]] +name = "asn1-rs-derive" +version = "0.6.0" +source = "registry+https://github.com/rust-lang/crates.io-index" +checksum = "3109e49b1e4909e9db6515a30c633684d68cdeaa252f215214cb4fa1a5bfee2c" +dependencies = [ + "proc-macro2", + "quote", + "syn 2.0.119", + "synstructure", +] + +[[package]] +name = "asn1-rs-impl" +version = "0.2.0" +source = "registry+https://github.com/rust-lang/crates.io-index" +checksum = "7b18050c2cd6fe86c3a76584ef5e0baf286d038cda203eb6223df2cc413565f7" +dependencies = [ + "proc-macro2", + "quote", + "syn 2.0.119", +] + [[package]] name = "async-nats" version = "0.50.0" @@ -705,6 +759,20 @@ dependencies = [ "zeroize", ] +[[package]] +name = "der-parser" +version = "10.0.0" +source = "registry+https://github.com/rust-lang/crates.io-index" +checksum = "07da5016415d5a3c4dd39b11ed26f915f52fc4e0dc197d87908bc916e51bc1a6" +dependencies = [ + "asn1-rs", + "displaydoc", + "nom", + "num-bigint", + "num-traits", + "rusticata-macros", +] + [[package]] name = "deranged" version = "0.5.8" @@ -860,7 +928,7 @@ source = "registry+https://github.com/rust-lang/crates.io-index" checksum = "39cab71617ae0d63f51a36d69f866391735b51691dbda63cf6f96d042b63efeb" dependencies = [ "libc", - hub.rs: the Apus server (ApusHub, Connection, CallReply, ServerSettings, serve/serve_on). Mutual TLS (action identity from the client certificate's URI SAN) or plain TCP; handshake timeout; connection limits; ROUTES/STATUS; call slots and admission control; deadlines + CANCEL; bidirectional streams; heartbeats; GOAWAY; RETURN of a function becomes a tucana SubFlowFunctionResult. - convert.rs: hardened Apus <-> tucana value conversion, template forwarding, automatic streaming of large strings. - exec.rs: flow execution requested over Apus (ExecContext, ExecutionMode {Nats, Local}, FlowSource {Kv, Memory}), flow lookup from the NATS KV store (cached + watched), ownership checks, local execution via worker::execute_flow, NATS execution via request/reply, load_flows_file. - remote.rs: RoutingRemote implementing taurus_core's RemoteRuntime -- Apus when the action is directly connected, NATS fallback otherwise. - tests.rs: the integration test suite (raw-frame mock action driving serve_on) -- handshake, routing, overload, hostile input, streams both directions, sub-flows, returned functions, deadlines, CANCEL, heartbeats, client-certificate identity and expiry. No changes needed porting onto current origin/main: the reference implementation's mod.rs already excludes the earlier experimental "Glue" gRPC hub. --- crates/taurus/src/app/apus/convert.rs | 441 ++++++++ crates/taurus/src/app/apus/exec.rs | 312 ++++++ crates/taurus/src/app/apus/hub.rs | 1406 +++++++++++++++++++++++++ crates/taurus/src/app/apus/mod.rs | 14 + crates/taurus/src/app/apus/remote.rs | 134 +++ crates/taurus/src/app/apus/tests.rs | 941 +++++++++++++++++ 6 files changed, 3248 insertions(+) create mode 100644 crates/taurus/src/app/apus/convert.rs create mode 100644 crates/taurus/src/app/apus/exec.rs create mode 100644 crates/taurus/src/app/apus/hub.rs create mode 100644 crates/taurus/src/app/apus/mod.rs create mode 100644 crates/taurus/src/app/apus/remote.rs create mode 100644 crates/taurus/src/app/apus/tests.rs diff --git a/crates/taurus/src/app/apus/convert.rs b/crates/taurus/src/app/apus/convert.rs new file mode 100644 index 0000000..25d8baf --- /dev/null +++ b/crates/taurus/src/app/apus/convert.rs @@ -0,0 +1,441 @@ +//! makes NATS optional (gated on the new nats_enabled config flag -- when disabled there's no execution queue, Apus only); builds an ApusHub when apus_enabled, constructs apus::RoutingRemote (hub + optional NATS remote + timeout + trace flag) and passes it to the worker in place of the bare NATS remote runtime; adds start_apus_server(...), which picks the FlowSource from either APUS_FLOWS_PATH or the NATS flow-store KV bucket, builds the rustls TlsAcceptor from apus_protocol::tls::server_config when all three TLS paths are configured (panics on startup if only some of the three are set), wires watch_routes, and spawns apus::serve; on shutdown calls hub.goaway_all(...). worker.rs: threads RoutingRemote through in place of the bare NATS remote runtime; after computing a flow run result, if the inbound execution message carries a NATS reply inbox, publishes the encoded result there, so an Apus instance that queued the execution over NATS gets the outcome back. Makes FlowRunResult and the functions exec.rs reuses (execute_flow, function_identifiers_by_node_id) pub(crate). --- crates/taurus/src/app/mod.rs | 210 ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++---- crates/taurus/src/app/worker.rs | 39 ++++-- 2 files changed, 214 insertions(+), 35 deletions(-) diff --git a/crates/taurus/src/app/mod.rs b/crates/taurus/src/app/mod.rs index 8d30e09..ddfa1df 100644 --- a/crates/taurus/src/app/mod.rs +++ b/crates/taurus/src/app/mod.rs @@ -7,6 +7,7 @@ //! the worker task to stop via a `Notify` and waits for it to exit on its own, //! so in-flight flow executions can finish before the process exits. +pub mod apus;
