Scenario:
I have solar seed p1 and heltec T096 repeaters at my house, and they all suffers from a very high number of receive errors. which is typically 4 to 5 times higher than package received.
I have tried all tricks in the books to get a better connection, moving the antenna, increase hight different antennas, different hardware, but the problem remains I have hard time getting good packages from my neighbor repeaters who is running a heltec V4, and has multiple repeaters.
He has two repeaters at his location with an 11Dbi antenna and a 14 dBi antenna. These repeaters are running as observers which gives great insight into when repeats packages.
it is quite evident when he repeats data I get two received package errors on my main repeater.
My repeater is Solar Seed P1 with a SAW filter running a 11,5dBi antennal. The antenna has LOS to his repeater.
The repeaters are running 1.17.1 Powersaving, which is the latest release.
We have tried the following on his repeater when sending DM to each other
- Stop repeating so he only had one repeater
- Change Rx, and Tx delays
- Configure CAD which seem to improve the situation for DM, but created other issues like the 4 sec blackout repeating a package.
My repeater has no issues receiving from other repeaters that far away from my location, and I quite strong connection a repeater which is 33, km away, and have in good conditions to connections to multiple repeaters that are 380 km away.
The repeater i have issues with is on 22 km away and we have LOS.
His repeater has no issues of hearing my repeaters and receives typically my radio wave with +10dB.
I can rule out
- Hardware Solar Seed, Heltec T96 and RAK4631 repeaters all faces the same problem
- Antenna: We both have 11 dB antennas, and I have tried with multiple different antennas.
- Antenna location they have LOS
- Firmware - we both run the latest firmware.
