Iron Bank Image Compatibikity

I'm interested in using the stackable platform but want to use platform1's iron bank images due to organizational constraints. Are the stackable NiFi and Kafka operators compatible with ironbank images?

thanks for asking. I did look at Iron Bank a couple of years ago so my knowledge is almost certainly outdated.

I'm afraid any preexisting Iron Bank images will probably not work. Our operators expect a specific layout and tools to exist.

You can point a cluster at any image via spec.image.custom, but it needs the same structure as ours: https://docs.stackable.tech/home/stable/concepts/product-image-selection#customimages

Our images are built on Red Hat UBI from the public Dockerfiles in https://github.com/stackabletech/docker-images. Rebuilding them on an Iron Bank base is possible in principle, but you'd have to repeat it for every SDP release, and we don't test that setup. I'm probably missing something as well. It won't be trivial.

I'd be very curious to learn more and see if we can somehow accomodate that and if you know more about Iron Bank that'd be a good start.
