[Enhancement] Add a toggle "Highlight inline diffs", to turn the feature on/off easily

Similar to the existing "Show hidden symbols" etc toggles, this would allow inline-diff highlights to be conveniently toggled on/off.

Currently, there is no way to disable the inline-diff highlights. (When off, we can skip calculating the inline-diffs entirely.)
