Report registry resolution, public artifact installation, installed-version checks, and plugin discovery. Log each offline probe and the positive profile handoff so Jenkins operators can see what the smoke test completed. Cover both public installation-source messages with a focused unit test.

Record the inferred 0.39.5 collection release in source so the release rehearsal can validate the smoke-progress changes without attempting to retarget published changelog history.

Description
Public-release smoke runs now report registry selection, public artifact installation, version validation, plugin discovery, offline probes, and profile handoff progress. Jenkins operators can identify which public source was used and the last completed verification phase without exposing credentials or contacting a tenant.
