Change and mathematical scope

Source-pinned C rational batching, integer sparse loops and canonical witness formatting against frozen PR5864. All six complete frozen-qualifier scientific receipts agree. The descriptive 6.47% wall / 6.21% CPU median reductions fail the requested 15% target and both declared repeat-spread noise gates. No qualified positive speedup, kappa, construction or selected-frontier claim. Rational construction stops at the losing cost of restoring the required independent literal Fraction oracle.

Task and overlap

Task replay-runtime, refined to donor-requested C opportunities 1, 2 and 4. Canonical main de5ec2e; official 163-file PR5864 export at 3f15c94 is an immutable declared input. Extends PR5848, PR5852, PR5853 and PR5864; distinct from the failed thin score-dispatch PR5875. Opportunity 3, matrix/GF(2), is a separate workload and contributes no percentage here.

Validation

python3.12 -B scripts/research_package.py --package research/c-verification-feasibility freshly runs original custody/finite/native checks and new integer/rational finite checks in normal and optimized modes. Added coverage includes 8,192-bit integers, signed cancellation, aliases, complete ordered bytes, 178 rational comparisons, arithmetic drift and fallback rejection. All 120 original fixtures and full 25,984-event / 799-coordinate ideal, weights, signed witnesses, hashes and reverse comparisons remain in the six timed qualifier runs. Candidate includes its added cold compile/load and validation bill; compiler children count in CPU.

The four unchanged custody checks are separate from BOTH timed arms, matching PR5864 benchmark scope; no portable replay-driver total is claimed. Fresh readonly Git-free replay of all five registered commands, metadata/source pins and 125 committed package bytes/modes pass. Every sample and draft is retained; no timing rerolls. Full optimized/readonly performance qualification was not pursued after the failed gates. Linux CPython 3.12.3 / GCC 13.3, existing compiler/headers, no installs or committed binaries. Hosted correctness CI remains separate from local performance evidence.

The corrected head 4b6d9c0d630b7809e43651eadcb4921ea5dbde56 retains the initial hosted failure and explicitly admits only the two reviewed CPython patch/source pairs. All live arithmetic guards remain; unknown source bytes reject even after the code cache is populated. Local normal/optimized and readonly compatibility replays pass; hosted replay is tracked separately. No measured C kernel or timing sample changed.

One further rejection-only diagnostic observes all 246 original integer Engine call boundaries with unchanged arithmetic. Its 4.855752 wall / 4.853204 CPU seconds are below the fixed baseline 15% thresholds even at zero replacement cost. Host variation and the narrower observed-cost boundary are explicit; no broader state-owner construction or universal obstruction is claimed.

Credit

Ali Romman and all retained P104/native/compiler/precision predecessor authors; previous source-bound table/entry/compact/slot/C-bookkeeping contributions; PR5875 negative screen. Inherited Ali Romman PR5761 three-file routing-test repair is unchanged and credited. Chris R / Clear1nsight with substantial OpenAI Codex implementation and user-requested GPT-6-astra xhigh static review; one parent numerical runner. No independent human or proof-kernel acceptance. Apache-2.0 notices retained.

Open next questions

Report and exact limits, structured questions. A different arithmetic ownership boundary needs a new bounded complete-cost screen preserving the required oracle. No further construction or timings are justified for these frozen nominations this round.

FINDING / DONE / RELEASED — source-pinned C batching screens retained; no qualified further speedup.

  1. Research discussion / PR / artifact: PR5908, following PR5864 and PR5875. This is an open, unmerged scoped engineering submission.
  2. Exact commit: publication ec0afa7633ff72e1c5ea26bb5726ec569a3f59ac; declared-input ancestor ccb92b752ab31df4220780a580cc14d9e86ffeca; canonical main de5ec2e7a6074068452f45b1a191b5c72832df4a; official parent PR5864 3f15c943e4ad6479f03e674c80fff1269a16ccfe. All102 package files and modes match the committed artifact. Ali Romman PR5761 routing-test repair 01014cbe772ea5a59ccbc55266222433944c7368 remains unchanged.
  3. What is established: six BCCBBC frozen-qualifier scientific receipts agree, retaining all120 fixtures and full25,984-event/799-coordinate ideal, weights, signed witness, hash and reverse comparisons. Added integer/format checks cover8192-bit values, six ordered prefixes and27 labels; rational prototype passes178 comparisons and19 controls plus final destructor drift rejection. Fresh original custody/finite/native, normal/O added finite, readonly Git-free, metadata/pins and committed-byte/mode checks pass.
  4. What remains uncertain: descriptive medians34.661785/34.47 baseline versus32.418778/32.33 candidate wall/CPU fail15% and repeat-spread noise gates. No qualified positive increment follows. Four unchanged custody checks are separate from BOTH timed arms, as in PR5864 benchmark; not a portable replay-driver total. Rational literal-oracle restoration fails a historical optimistic cost screen; no new rational actual/full run. No universal obstruction, full theorem, human/proof-kernel acceptance or kappa claim. Hosted exact-head CI is pending and will be reported separately.
  5. Smallest useful next task: none justified for these frozen nominations this round. A different arithmetic ownership boundary needs new bounded cost justification preserving the required oracle. The separately authorized matrix/GF(2) verification workload remains active and contributes no percentage to PR5864. Kappa research, Work1/2 mathematics, unrelated feeds and automations remain paused.
  6. Reproduction / expected runtime: python3.12 -B scripts/research_package.py --package research/c-verification-feasibility; all five scoped fresh commands take about7 seconds locally, require existing Linux CPython3.12/cc/headers, and rerun no timings. One parent serial runner;180s/1GiB sampled process-group RSS/600s initial/1500s shared/zero automatic retries.
  7. Predecessor credit: Ali Romman and all retained P104/native/compiler/precision authors; Adam Gall, ywz65 and Mason Hale; PR5848/5852/5853/5864/5875 and their complete input-archive notices. Chris R / Clear1nsight with substantial OpenAI Codex implementation and user-requested GPT-6-astra xhigh static review; prototype author also reviewed integer code, so that is not an independent-author audit. Apache-2.0 retained. No merge or selected-frontier change.

CI / CURRENT-HANDOFF UPDATE — exact corrected head verified.

Publication head is now 4b6d9c0d630b7809e43651eadcb4921ea5dbde56 (125 package files; same declared-input ancestor ccb92b752ab31df4220780a580cc14d9e86ffeca). The original seven-field handoff remains the scope/credit record; this update supersedes its old publication head and pending-CI status.

Hosted run40511456879 passed on that exact head: plan ran 513 shared tests with 22 unchanged skips and selected only this package; all five fresh replay commands passed on CPython 3.12.15/GCC 13.3. Hosted diagnostics emitted the reviewed Fraction source hash d52d1ab9d5be26924e4914a5e40069c992bbfa68f773694c2e5ee8452d0766a0. Both rational modes passed destructor and unknown-source rejection after a populated code cache.

The first hosted failure is retained. The repair explicitly binds the reviewed 3.12.3 and 3.12.15 runtime/source pairs and preserves every live arithmetic guard. No measured integer C source, original timing, failed noise gate or failed 15% gate changed. The further owned-state diagnostic retains all 246 original Engine boundaries and rejects the unpriced nomination; it is an observed cost screen, not a universal bound. Local readonly Git-free compatibility replay, metadata/pins and committed bytes/modes pass.

No qualified PR5864 speedup, kappa, merge or selected-frontier claim. PR remains open/unmerged. The distinct H25 matrix side-verification result is being published separately; its percentage is not added here. Kappa/Work1/Work2 mathematics, unrelated feeds and automations remain paused.

ARCHIVE-STATE UPDATE — final refreshed GitHub view shows Mister-Meeseeks merged this PR at a3e1e3f (Archive queue chunk B with exact-source attribution and explicit review scope). The preserved source head is4b6d9c0d630b7809e43651eadcb4921ea5dbde56. This supersedes the earlier open/unmerged status only; no author source/sample changed for closeout.

The exact-head central ledger at that merge retains disposition partially_reviewed and states: independent scientific review and source-bound replay remain open. Archive intake is preservation, not mathematical approval, an independent replay or a selected-frontier update. See archive policy and ledger.

The author-hosted exact-head run40511456879 passed as previously reported; the complete integer/format15%andnoise gates remain failed. The separate positive H25side result is PR5929 at a456c24, with green exact-head CI confirmation. Its29.27%does not satisfy the further PR5864 target or imply a full-network factor. All paused mathematics/feeds/automations stay paused.
