Stream HTTP responses and enforce the configured character limit as data arrives. Preserve UTF-8 characters across chunk boundaries and retain replacement handling for malformed input. Redact API keys from configuration serialization and client/config inspection while keeping authentication unchanged.
Fix Bundler setup and the BigDecimal test dependency, and add regression tests and Ruby CI jobs. Update the README description of configuration serialization.
Validation: 33 offline examples passed on JRuby; 15 local HTTP scenarios passed against the built and installed gem, including single/bulk lookups, raw XML, origin authentication, split UTF-8, compressed responses, errors and timeouts. Gem build and install passed. The 28 credential-dependent live tests were skipped. All eight GitHub CI jobs passed: Ruby 2.7, 3.0–3.4, 4.0, and JRuby, including gem build and install.
Public methods and Ruby 2.7+ support are retained. Configuration hashes and JSON now mask the API key;
config.api_keystill returns the original value.
