Keep the combined planned-purchase regression in the repository instead of relying on a scratch verification harness. This adds one 374-line integration test file and changes no production code.

Four cases follow actual routed plan/root creation, current stored recommendations, strict resolution and attachment through manual approval with global purchasing OFF or scheduled execution with it ON. An explicit recording-only Azure provider verifies 20 units, monthly payment, one-year term, frozen $2,400 term commitment and durable root/child completion. Assertions cover creator four-eyes, approval limits, exact/over-cap behavior, the next weekly step, immediate replay without another purchase, and GET /api/purchases/planned quantity/resource fields.

Refs #631. This retains the already verified combined scenario as its own small PR after #873 and #876. The UI date-default correction is #877. Immediate replay assertions do not claim to verify long-term execution retention.

Verification at ee28d78eb9fe4929e191fd640deac0dbb052ff85, tree fa36d0048a29e752c3993d65af2243e7fab375a1, base 9da13c6cefee4dbbdb9515c483ed92acaf5ae81a:

  • Two retained non-author source/staged passes and two fresh full-diff adversarial verification passes, using the owner-selected GPT-6.1 Sol medium reviewer. No actionable findings.
  • Independent native PostgreSQL 119 execution passed all four cases with race detection in 5.998s. The exact-commit author rerun passed in 5.799s.
  • Replacing the creator with its historical guarded-off source causes the actual creation request to fail with HTTP 409. Replacing the projection with its historical source fails the 20-unit/type/region assertions while the existing GET control passes. These are runtime assertion failures, not setup/compiler failures.
  • Affected API race suite passed in 46.986s; pinned integration lint reported zero issues; build and all normal commit hooks passed.

Handlers, store, resolver, manager and PostgreSQL are real. Authentication, credentials, email, global settings, clock advancement and cloud provider are fixtures. The factory refuses unexpected provider/service/region tuples and has no real-cloud fallback. No live purchase, browser session or manual deployment occurred.

Summary by CodeRabbit

  • Tests
    • Added coverage for manually approved and scheduled planned purchases, including execution records, plan progression, history, and recommendations.
    • Verified that purchases exceeding a commitment cap fail without advancing the plan, and that repeated processing or approval does not execute a purchase twice.

📝 Walkthrough

Adds PostgreSQL-backed integration tests for combined planned-purchase flows. The tests cover recommendation attachment, manual approval, scheduled automatic execution, commitment-cap failure, purchase records, plan progress, and planned-purchases API projection.

Changes: Combined planned-purchase integration tests

Layer / File(s) Summary
Fixture setup and recommendation attachment
internal/api/combined_plan_purchase_integration_test.go
Adds PostgreSQL and mocked Azure fixtures, creates plan and purchase records, and checks that a scaled recommendation attaches to the root execution while the next step remains scheduled.
Approval and scheduled execution
internal/api/combined_plan_purchase_integration_test.go
Checks purchase completion records and plan state. Tests approval limits and rejection of repeated approval, plus due-time behavior and prevention of repeated automatic execution.
Commitment cap and API projection
internal/api/combined_plan_purchase_integration_test.go
Checks that an over-cap attachment fails without advancing ramp progress or the next execution date. Verifies the planned-purchases API projects the attached root without calling the provider.

Independent review verdict: no actionable findings at ee28d78eb9fe4929e191fd640deac0dbb052ff85, tree fa36d0048a29e752c3993d65af2243e7fab375a1, base 9da13c6cefee4dbbdb9515c483ed92acaf5ae81a.

The retained non-author reviewer completed two source/staged passes. A fresh owner-selected GPT-6.1 Sol medium verifier completed two full-diff adversarial passes, tracing routed creation, stored recommendation resolution, attachment/caps, approval constraints/four-eyes, scheduler policy, provider conversion and durable completion. The pinned Azure adapter maps rec.Count directly to reservation quantity; the tests check 20 units separately from the $2,400 term commitment.

Independent native execution used go test -race -count=1 -tags=integration -overlay=<reviewed-native-overlay> -run '^TestCombinedPlanPurchase_' -v ./internal/api and passed all four cases in 5.998s. That original evidence is retained as labeled tool-output excerpts and an independent verification receipt. An additional already-started raw-output run passed in 6.164s and is retained separately, without replacing the original evidence.

Historical-source controls establish sensitivity:

  • Creator from a3bc552aaa85523ffbd96b2f865386bf662a440e, with compatible historical call sites: actual routed HTTP 409 instead of 200, 2.409s.
  • Projection from 5134af444026276c6cdbf7a135ca00e54d656ef0: actual 1/Various/Multiple instead of 20/Standard_D2s_v3/westeurope, 2.978s. The existing GET control passed in the same run.

These were assertion failures rather than compiler or setup failures. The verifier confirmed unchanged candidate source/index, released the runner lock and cleaned only its own test databases. Exact-commit author execution, affected API race tests, pinned lint, build and all normal hooks also passed. Required remote CI and inspection of any actual automated-review findings remain merge gates.

API/store/resolver/manager/PostgreSQL are real; authentication, credentials, email, settings/clock and provider recording are fixtures. No live purchase, browser transport or long-term retention proof is claimed.

Superseded by #879, which retains this 374-line regression proof and adds the reviewed nil-clock assertion guard. Original branch, commits and verification evidence are preserved. No production behavior changes.
