What

A blog post comparing Maple with SigNoz, plus a small diagram component.

  • apps/landing/src/content/blog/maple-vs-signoz.mdx — ~3,500 words, draft: true, byline David Granzin, category guides
  • apps/landing/src/components/blog/demos/StackTopology.astro — the two self-hosted stacks side by side, CSS boxes only

Shape

Difference-first, same idea as the /compare pages: where the two actually diverge, an explicit "what SigNoz has that Maple doesn't" section, and a worked pricing table for the same workload on both. Definitional "What SigNoz is" / "What Maple is" sections up top for search, FAQ at the bottom.

Where SigNoz is ahead is stated plainly: self-host packaging and Community-edition multi-user/RBAC, PromQL, trace funnels, external API and queue monitoring, Ingest Guard, nine notification channels, Jaeger/Zipkin ingest, track record. Maple's self-host path is described as it is today (compose + your ClickHouse + root password, single-org, no SSO).

Research

SigNoz's side was checked in September 2026 against their pricing page, architecture / Docker / Linux / retention / SSO / exceptions / AI docs, the signoz and signoz-mcp-server repos and ee/LICENSE. Retention-tier rates come from the same calculator check recorded in vendor-pricing.ts (2026-08). Sources are linked at the foot of the post.

Verification

  • blog-post-demos.test.ts passes (imports resolve, >1500 words, no inline SVG)
  • Rendered locally at /blog/maple-vs-signoz: 14 H2s, diagram lays out as two columns with every node, pricing table and diff-marked YAML render; no server errors

Devin Review

A difference-first comparison rather than a feature matrix: license (MIT + ee/
vs FSL), self-hosting (SigNoz ahead, said plainly), query languages, the error
workflow, session replay and agent sessions, both MCP servers, what SigNoz has
that Maple doesn't, and the same month priced on both. SigNoz claims checked
against their pricing page, docs and repositories in September 2026; sources
listed at the foot of the post.

Adds StackTopology, a CSS-only diagram of the two self-hosted stacks tier by
tier (no inline SVG, per the blog demo guard test). Post ships as draft: true
like the existing one.
