This repository has carried no license statement since it was created in February 2021, although it has been developed as a repository of the W3C Maps For HTML Community Group, whose contributions are made under the W3C Community Contributor License Agreement.

Record the terms retroactively:

• LICENSE.md states that contributions are licensed by their contributors under the W3C Software and Document License (W3C-20150513), consistent with MapML.js and the other Maps4HTML repositories, and applies to the whole history of the repository. The copyright notice credits Natural Resources Canada, whose employees and students authored the bulk of the work, and Malvoz, the principal contributor from outside that group. It is explicitly non-exhaustive: copyright in each contribution remains with its author.
• NOTICE reproduces the notices required by the third-party material that this repository redistributes: the synchronized MapML.js build under static/dist/ (W3C-20150513) and the libraries bundled into it (Leaflet, Proj4Leaflet BSD-2-Clause; proj4, Leaflet.Locate MIT; protomaps-leaflet and PMTiles BSD-3-Clause), the vendored copy of CodeMirror 5.64.0 (MIT), and the Docusaurus/React runtime emitted into the generated site (MIT). It also records the terms of the map services the demonstrations reference at run time.
• CONTRIBUTING.md requires every contributor to be a CLA signatory and states the license under which contributions are made.
• package.json declares the SPDX identifier.
