Creating an eSign request, finishing CIE signing, and retrying delivery now await router.invalidate({ sync: true }) before showing their outcome. CIE signing also keeps its dialog open until the refresh finishes, and request creation refreshes the shell before opening the new request.

Creation errors remain separate from later refresh or navigation errors. Once a request exists, its ID is retained, Create request stays disabled, and an Open request link provides recovery if navigation fails. Refresh failures are logged without reporting a successful write as failed.

Rebased onto the Drive ACL changes in #109; the composer's signer eligibility checks are preserved.

Validation:

  • pnpm check: passes with 0 errors and 26 existing warnings.
  • pnpm typecheck: passes.
  • pnpm test: 51 passed, 0 failed, 3 service-dependent integration tests skipped.
  • pnpm build: passes.
  • Eight regression tests execute the production handlers with controlled dependencies and deferred refreshes. They cover delayed reloads, failed creation, refresh/navigation failure after creation, CIE completion, and all delivery outcomes. Against current main, seven fail; all eight pass with the fix.

The tests exercise handler behavior rather than a browser render. No live backend, production endpoint, or desktop CIE agent was used.

Walkthrough

eSign request creation now separates creation failures from later route invalidation and navigation failures. Retry and CIE signing handlers refresh route data before reporting completion. AST tests check these handler sequences.

Layer / File(s) Summary
Request creation and navigation
src/features/esign/new-request-page.tsx, tests/esign-mutation-refresh.test.mjs
Request creation errors remain separate from invalidation and navigation errors. The success toast follows navigation. Tests check reload-before-toast ordering and navigation to the created request.
Retry and CIE completion
src/features/esign/request-page.tsx, src/features/esign/sign-with-cie.tsx, tests/esign-mutation-refresh.test.mjs
Retry reports its result after invalidation. CIE signing reloads before clearing the signing phase and showing a toast. Tests check these sequences.

If opening a newly created request fails, its form remains pending, though the request can still be opened from the requests list. Fixing that recovery state is advisable before merge.

Assert the await and sync: true contract for each reload path.

The AST test checks only source order. It still passes if submit or retry changes await router.invalidate({ sync: true }) to router.invalidate(). It also passes if finish changes await reload() to reload(), or if the CIE reload helper drops { sync: true }.

Add AST assertions that the direct invalidations are awaited and use sync: true, that finish awaits reload(), and that the CIE reload helper awaits router.invalidate({ sync: true }).

Clear the pending state when navigation fails.

If navigate rejects, the catch only logs the error. submitting remains true, so the Create request button stays disabled even though the request exists. Reset submitting and show a post-creation error. The requests-list back link already provides recovery, so do not offer to create the request again.

Creating a request, finishing a CIE signature and retrying a delivery
now await router.invalidate({ sync: true }) before closing the dialog

Creating a request no longer shares one catch with the reload and the

logged instead of showing "Couldn't create the request." and
re-enabling Create request.
Keep the created request ID and an Open request link when refresh or navigation fails, while preventing a second creation. Exercise production mutation handlers with deferred refreshes and failure injection instead of static source-order checks.

Record successful creation before refreshing loaders, keep recovery navigation
after refresh failures, and catch navigation failures separately from creation errors.

Exercise the connected production handlers for creation, signing preparation
