👋 Jules, reporting for duty! I'm here to lend a hand with this pull request. When you start a review, I'll add a 👀 emoji to each comment to let you know I've read it. 💡 What: Avoided unnecessary string cloning for file path arguments in
sys_read_file,sys_write_file, andsys_existsby borrowing string slices directly when arguments areRuntimeValue::Str. Added comments confirming synchronous stdlib execution model.🎯 Why: Previously,
args[0].try_into_string()?cloned the input path string on every file operation, allocating memory on the heap even when the argument was already aRuntimeValue::Str.📊 Measured Improvement: Reduced heap allocations per file I/O call to zero for path argument handling, saving 1 string allocation per file operation. Measured 10,000 iterations in
test_sys_read_file_benchmark.🔬 Measurement: Executed
cargo test -p techscript_stdlib --test stdlib_tests -- test_sys_read_file_benchmark --nocapture.PR created automatically by Jules for task 7521615378474913608 started by @Tcode-Motion
