Importing Virtual Machines From VMware into KVM #10540
Hi Community.
After reading the documentation about Importing Virtual Machines From VMware into KVM, there are a few unclear ones that I need help with.
The primary storage is ceph rbd, does it support importing vmware virtual machines?
vcenter version 6.5 is a little old, does it support
Hi @sureshanaparti ,
Thank you for your reply, I also read the documentation . The following part is not very clear. Because I only have ceph rbd type primary storage . Can I use this feature?
In the UI to import instance, you can optionally select a KVM host and temporary destination storage (Default is Secondary Storage, Only NFS pools are supported) for the conversion. The conversion needs VM files (OVF) to be imported to temporary destination storage, the KVM host used for conversion can import them if the ovftool is installed in it, otherwise the management server imports them. You can force the management server to import them by enabling Force MS to import VM file(s), even the KVM host has ovftool installed in it.
@havengit , As I read it, if you use the default it will be converted on secondary storage and this should be NFS. that should mean that your primary storage is completely out of scope.
