Climate Resource

We build platforms and provide advice to turn science into the insights needed to respond to climate change.

We develop some of the world's most widely used models and data to quantify country emissions, evaluate the implications for global warming, track progress, and assess the impacts of the changing climate at a global and regional level.

What we do

  • Emissions data: PRIMAP-hist, historical emissions for every country since 1750.
  • Climate projections: MAGICC projects the temperature rise from emissions and energy-transition scenarios.
  • Policy analysis: quantifying nationally determined contributions (NDCs) and their implications for warming.
  • Decarbonisation pathways for energy and energy-intensive sectors.
  • Regional impacts: projections of temperature, precipitation and sea level rise.
  • Earth System Model inputs: greenhouse gas concentrations and forcing datasets for CMIP, plus evaluation tools.
