Adds a Download as… dropdown (CSV / Excel) to every report card. The reports pages share one Report component, so this covers tickets, program and involvement reports and /stats.

Motivation: ticket desk staffing for Ropecon needs the hourly ticket exchange numbers in a spreadsheet.

Backend

Files are generated by new views in kompassi/reports, like the other Kompassi exports:

  • /events/<event>/{tickets,program,involvement}/reports/<report>.{csv,xlsx}?lang=fi, with the same access checks as the corresponding GraphQL reports fields
  • /stats/reports/<report>.{csv,xlsx}, public like /stats and kompassiStats
  • program_v2's report list is extracted from its resolver into program_v2.reports.get_reports so the view can reuse it

Excel: typed cells, so numbers, money (#,##0.00 €), percentages and dates are correct whatever the regional settings. Times are written in the event's local time, since Excel has no time zones. Text is written with write_string, so it is never treated as a formula.

CSV: raw values, a UTF-8 BOM for Excel, RFC 4180 quoting. Text cells starting with = + - @, tab or CR are prefixed with ' (CSV injection, as pointed out by CodeRabbit). The total row is left out of both formats so it is not summed with the data.

Filenames

<event slug>_<report slug>_<time range>.<csv|xlsx>, times in the event's timezone:

  • Report with a datetime column: first and last time in it, e.g. ropecon2025_ticket_exchange_by_hour_2025-07-25T1000_2025-07-26T1200.xlsx
  • Otherwise everything up to the moment of export, e.g. ropecon2025_ticket_exchange_by_product_until_2026-10-24T1530.csv
  • /stats has no event, so it uses the prefix kompassi

Testing

  • kompassi/reports/tests.py: filenames, CSV escaping and formula guard, typed xlsx cells and number formats, access control of the event view, the public stats view, 404 for an unknown report
  • Existing tickets, program, involvement, core and GraphQL API tests pass
  • Local docker compose env with test lippukala codes: downloaded every format as a tickets admin, checked filenames, contents and typed cells; anonymous gets the access denied page
  • tsc, ESLint, Prettier and the ruff hooks pass

Note: Kompassi's permission_denied_view renders the access denied page with status 200 instead of 403. That is pre-existing, affects every view, and is left out of this PR.

Summary by CodeRabbit

  • New Features
    • Download event and statistics reports as CSV or Excel files directly from report pages.
    • Export options are available in English, Finnish, and Swedish, and downloads use the selected language.
    • Exported files include localized column headings and formatted values, with date-based filenames when report data includes dates.

Every report card (tickets, program and involvement reports, /stats) gets a
Download CSV button. The CSV is built client-side from the report data the
page already has, with raw values, a UTF-8 BOM for Excel and no total row.

Files are named <event>_<report>_<time range>.csv: the first and last time
of the report's datetime column if it has one, otherwise until_<export time>.

Walkthrough

The change adds CSV and XLSX export endpoints for event reports and site-wide statistics. Report pages now display localized export links. Program V2 report resolution delegates report collection to a new helper.

Changes: Report exports

Layer / File(s) Summary
Export formats and filenames
kompassi/reports/export.py, kompassi/reports/tests.py
New utilities create filenames and serialize report data as CSV or XLSX. Tests cover date-based filenames, localized headers, cell values, number formats, and formula-like text.
Program V2 report collection
kompassi/program_v2/reports/__init__.py, kompassi/program_v2/graphql/meta.py
A new helper collects reservation-status and zone reports. The GraphQL resolver delegates report collection to the helper and passes the requested language.
Export routes and access checks
kompassi/reports/views.py, kompassi/reports/urls.py, kompassi/urls.py, kompassi/reports/tests.py
Event and statistics export views select reports and return CSV or XLSX downloads. Event report sources apply their access checks. Routes and tests cover access responses, successful downloads, and unknown report slugs.
Report page export links
kompassi-v2-frontend/src/components/reports/Report.tsx, kompassi-v2-frontend/src/app/[locale]/[eventSlug]/*/page.tsx, kompassi-v2-frontend/src/app/[locale]/stats/page.tsx, kompassi-v2-frontend/src/translations/{en,fi,sv}.tsx
The Report component displays CSV and XLSX links with the report slug and current locale. Event and statistics pages provide export URLs. English, Finnish, and Swedish translations provide menu labels.

Explanation

The title "feat(reports): CSV and Excel downloads for report cards" matches the main change. The PR adds a download control to report cards for tickets, program, involvement, and /stats reports. The backend export module, views, and URLs add CSV and XLSX output. The title names the feature and its scope, so it is specific and accurate. It uses a conventional commit prefix, which is a recognized style. It is one short sentence.

Finnish-locale Excel expects semicolons and decimal commas, so a comma CSV
opens as one column. Add an .xlsx download with typed cells (numbers, money,
percentages, local-time dates) and move CSV generation to the backend too, so
the filename logic lives in one place. Each report card gets a "Download as…"
dropdown, as on the survey responses page.

- /events/<event>/{tickets,program,involvement}/reports/<report>.{csv,xlsx}
with the same access checks as the GraphQL reports fields
- /stats/reports/<report>.{csv,xlsx}, public like /stats
- CSV text cells starting with = + - @ tab or CR are prefixed with ' to stop
spreadsheets running them as formulas (CodeRabbit review)
- program_v2 report list extracted to program_v2.reports.get_reports for reuse

…eet names

- A column without a title in the requested language (eg. a dimension value
title an admin left empty) made both downloads fail; use the column slug.
- Excel rejects sheet names that start or end with an apostrophe, which a
user-entered program title cut to 31 characters can produce, and names of
only spaces. Strip those and fall back to the report slug.

Both from CodeRabbit review.

Review by Claude (Claude Code, Opus 5.5), posted on behalf of @jkjuopperi.

Verdict: ready to merge. No bugs found, only a few minor points.

Checked and correct:

  • Access checks match the GraphQL fields exactly:
    • Tickets: graphql_check_instance(meta, field="reports") equals what @graphql_query_cbac_required computes on resolve_reports.
    • Program / involvement: graphql_check_model(ScheduleItem|Involvement, event.scope) is the same as their resolvers.
  • Session-cookie downloads follow the existing pattern (program-offers.xlsx, schedule-items.xlsx).
  • Missing meta: event.*_event_meta returns None, so an event without the app gets a clean 404.
  • Number formats: percentage values are fractions (the frontend does * 100), so 0.0% is right. The Excel date serial for 2025‑07‑26 12:00 in the test is correct.
  • Formula injection: CSV neutralizes text columns and headers. Excel uses write_string. Negative numbers keep their sign.
  • URL regex: every report slug I found matches [a-z0-9_-]+, including reservation_status_<date> and reservations_by_zone_<schedule item slug>.
  • Refactor: extracting program_v2.reports.get_reports doesn't change behaviour.

Minor points:

  1. An unexpected lang causes a 500. kompassi/reports/views.py passes request.GET["lang"] through unchecked. The tracon2026 involvement reports look it up with NO_SPECIAL_DIET[lang] and TOTAL_TITLE[lang], so ?lang=de raises a KeyError. GraphQL has the same problem and the frontend only sends fi/en/sv. Still, checking against the supported languages and falling back to DEFAULT_LANGUAGE would turn a crafted URL into the default language instead of an error.
  2. An expired backend session shows the access-denied page, not a login prompt. A user can be signed in to the V2 frontend while their backend session has expired. The existing exports behave the same way; this sits alongside the 200-instead-of-403 issue noted in the description. Possibly a follow-up issue.
  3. No audit event. The person-data exports emit core.person.exported, and these don't. That's fine for aggregate reports. The borderline case is tracon_special_diet_other (free-text diet entries, no names, already visible in the UI); I'd leave it.
  4. Nit: messages.actions.exportDropdown.title + "…" adds the ellipsis outside the translations. It could go into the three title strings instead.
