What

Two mechanical cleanups in already-published posts. No new content, no rewrites, no front-matter changes.

1. Typos and grammar in the 2021–2024 archive (polish(posts))

The 2026 posts were clean; the older ones had accumulated real errors:

  • spelling: thinkging, alredy, vesrion, maintein, margittr, Juptyer, Lilly58, Khail → Kailh, Majaro → Manjaro, hombrew, snail pace, layed off
  • dropped or duplicated words: It's a it's a, the the, it fairly quiet, use add, be compiles, hundreds of many
  • wrong word or preposition: different than → from, polished that → than, compliment → complement, stared → started, ecosystems that Jupyter → than, pink/gChoc
  • product names: GitHub, YouTube, AliExpress, macOS, MacBook, LaTeX, Homebrew, RStudio, Quarto, R Markdown, Markdown, Medium, ChatGPT, VS Code, Stack Overflow, Chromium, Microsoft 365
  • _posts/2024-11-17-cli-file-managers.md: curly apostrophes normalised to straight ones, matching the rest of the site

Affected paragraphs were re-wrapped to 80 columns and the org-mode post was made internally consistent (Org mode throughout).

2. renv vs Docker example fixed (fix(posts))

The prose promised a frozen package repository, but the Dockerfile called install.packages() with no repos argument. rocker/r-ver:4.4.2 is an Ubuntu 24.04 (noble) image, so the snippet now pins the matching noble P3M snapshot explicitly:

RUN Rscript -e "install.packages(c('data.table', 'ggplot2'), \
      repos = 'https://packagemanager.posit.co/cran/__linux__/noble/2025-02-27')"

Not changed

  • The Trigkey link in 2024-11-21-mini-pc.md looks wrong (stale S3/3750H slug) but the ASIN resolves to the G4 N100 16G/500G, so it is correct as written.
  • 2024-11-20-docker-for-R.md still uses a jammy P3M URL on the same noble base image — it installs mismatched-distro binaries rather than failing. Left for a separate decision since it comes from the project-bootstrap template.

Testing

  • bundle exec jekyll build passes.
  • Rendered pages spot-checked: meme account reference link, the parts table, the Org mode normalisation.
  • The R expression in the new Dockerfile parses.

Note for the merger

This branch is rebased on origin/master, so the diff is only these two commits. My local master still carries the earlier, pre-rebase copies of them plus the local merges of #40 and #42; it can be brought in line with origin/master after this merges.

Mechanical corrections only, no rewrites: spelling (thinkging, alredy,
vesrion, maintein, margittr, Juptyer, Lilly58, Khail, Majaro), dropped or
duplicated words ("It's a it's a", "the the", "it fairly quiet"), wrong
prepositions and verb forms (different than/from, polished that/than,
compliment/complement, stared/started), product-name capitalisation
(GitHub, YouTube, macOS, RStudio, Quarto, Markdown, ChatGPT, AliExpress),
and stray characters. Also re-wrapped the affected paragraphs to 80
columns and replaced curly apostrophes in the Yazi post.

The renv vs Docker Dockerfile snippet and the Trigkey link are left
untouched.
The prose promised a frozen package repository, but the Dockerfile called
install.packages() with no repos argument, so it installed from whatever
the image defaulted to that day.

rocker/r-ver:4.4.2 is an Ubuntu 24.04 (noble) image, so pin the matching
noble snapshot explicitly rather than relying on the image's built-in
CRAN setting.
