Summary

Fixes #19 (Headline Bounty)

This PR implements the official Model Context Protocol (MCP) server for HackProof (apps/mcp), enabling Claude Desktop, Cursor, Raven, and any MCP-compliant agent to query, inspect, and analyze HackMeridian 2026 hackathon submissions and Soroban testnet deployments.

What was built

1. MCP Server Core (apps/mcp/):
   • Built with TypeScript and @modelcontextprotocol/sdk as an integral package within the pnpm workspace (packages: ["apps/*"]).
   • Implemented StdioServerTransport CLI executable runnable via npx hackproof-mcp or node dist/index.js.
2. Full Tool Suite:
   • list_hackathons: Lists indexed hackathons and verification windows.
   • get_summary: High-level aggregate metrics with data freshness timestamps.
   • query_projects: Filter projects by keywords, evidence tier (verified, likely, possible), track, or partner.
   • get_project: Detailed project breakdown, contracts, wasm uploads, and link matches.
   • get_contract: Inspect deployed Soroban contracts on Stellar testnet.
   • hourly: 27-hour contract deployment timeline with peak hour calculations.
   • distributions: Geographic builder origins and evidence tier distributions.
   • top_errors: Aggregate analysis of failed transactions and result codes.
   • compare_idea(text): Semantic keyword similarity matcher over project names, descriptions and topics.
   • methodology(): Official explanation of HackProof evidence tiers and testnet reconstruction rules.
3. Caching & Freshness:
   • In-memory cache with 60s TTL and upstream ETag conditional revalidation (If-None-Match).
   • Every tool response includes a generated_at timestamp indicating data freshness.
4. Configuration & Documentation:
   • apps/mcp/README.md includes copy-paste JSON configurations for Claude Desktop, Cursor, and Raven.
5. Testing:
   • Comprehensive test suite in apps/mcp/src/server.test.ts testing all 10 tools against a fixture API.

Verification

• pnpm --filter hackproof-mcp build -> PASS (tsc exit 0)
• pnpm --filter hackproof-mcp test -> PASS (2 test suites, all 10 tools verified PASS in 363ms)
• node apps/mcp/dist/index.js -> PASS ("HackProof MCP server running on stdio")
