Summary by CodeRabbit

  • New Features

    • Browser page views now use the URL path as their ID when no page ID is specified.
    • Frame responses now include labels.
  • Changes

    • Events are sent as objects with a required name and optional data and other fields. Walker commands retain their string-name form.
    • Extra or unsupported arguments are ignored and reported as errors; event data must be an object.
    • Updated examples and guides reflect the event format and describe event results and browser setup.

📝 Walkthrough

The collector and browser source now use event objects for event pushes, report unsupported arguments, and retain walker-command handling. The pull request updates browser types, tests, examples, documentation, and validation. It also adds frame response labels and changes a demo script hash.

Changes: ELB event-object API

Layer / File(s) Summary
Collector call forms and validation
packages/collector/src/elb.ts, packages/collector/src/index.ts, packages/collector/src/__tests__/elb-adapter.test.ts, .changeset/collector-elb-arguments.md
The collector handles event objects, string-form events, and walker commands. It reports unsupported arguments and exports the associated error message. Tests cover supported and unsupported calls.
Browser push and event translation
packages/web/sources/browser/src/types/*, packages/web/sources/browser/src/translation.ts, packages/web/sources/browser/src/index.ts, packages/web/sources/browser/src/elbLayer.ts, packages/web/sources/browser/src/walker.ts, packages/web/sources/browser/src/trigger.ts, packages/web/sources/browser/src/examples/*, .changeset/web-source-browser-elb-event-copy.md
The browser source forwards calls to the translation layer, which builds event objects, merges page globals beneath event globals, and reports unsupported arguments. Browser push types and registry state now support this behavior. Page-view IDs default to the URL path when no ID is set.
Browser integration and validation tests
packages/web/sources/browser/src/__tests__/*
Tests cover event data, globals, source fields, ignored arguments, walker commands, queued calls, and page-view IDs. Related test contexts now provide a logger, and integration fixtures use event objects.
Application examples and push adapters
README.md, apps/demos/*, apps/quickstart/src/*, apps/walkerjs/examples/*, apps/demos/storybook/src/*, apps/explorer/src/components/molecules/*, packages/destinations/demo/README.md
Application examples now pass event objects. Storybook and Explorer adapters use updated push function types while retaining their described queueing and mock behavior.
Documentation and event-form checks
apps/scripts/validate-docs.ts, website/docs/*, skills/*
Documentation and skill guidance now show event-object calls and describe browser and collector push behavior. Documentation validation checks event call forms and extracts examples from the updated syntax.
Validation workflow updates
.github/workflows/website.yml, apps/scripts/validate-llms.ts, package.json
The website workflow runs source validation before the website build and LLM validation after it. The package scripts group source checks under validate:sources.

Frame response labels

Layer / File(s) Summary
Frame schema and generated types
packages/cli/openapi/spec.json, packages/cli/src/types/api.gen.d.ts, .changeset/frame-links.md
The OpenAPI schemas and generated declarations add required labels arrays to Frame and FrameLean. The OpenAPI version and MCP changeset release type also change.

Demo script selection

Layer / File(s) Summary
Stage-copy script hash
website/src/pages/demos/_DemoFrame.tsx
The Tag Mode script hash changes to the stage-copy hash. The configured base URL and allowed origins remain unchanged.

Review comments at @.changeset/frame-links.md:
- Line 2: Update the `@walkeros/mcp` release type in the changeset to major
because removing `parentId`, `extends`, and `placements` from exported frame
types and `frame_manage` output breaks the 4.8.0 contract.

Review comments at @packages/cli/src/types/api.gen.d.ts:
- Line 4123: Update FrameLeanWire to include labels, then forward frame.labels
when serializeLean constructs the response object so FrameWire and
serializeFrame preserve the field.

Review comments at @website/docs/sources/web/browser/commands.mdx:
- Line 45: Update the browser command documentation around the `elb()` stub to
clarify that calls made before the source starts are queued and return
`undefined`, not a promise or push result; only calls through the installed
browser source can return a push result.

Use a major release for the MCP frame-field removal.

The 4.8.0 contract exports and returns parentId, extends, and placements. This change removes those fields from both the exported frame types and frame_manage output. A patch release would therefore understate a breaking change.

Update the `@walkeros/mcp` release type in the changeset to major because
removing `parentId`, `extends`, and `placements` from exported frame types and
`frame_manage` output breaks the 4.8.0 contract.

Forward labels in MCP frame responses.

serializeLean constructs a new response object but does not include frame.labels. Add labels to FrameLeanWire and forward it from serializeLean; FrameWire inherits the field and serializeFrame then preserves it.

Update FrameLeanWire to include labels, then forward frame.labels when

preserve the field.
