### Zero-Docker quick start

**Docker is optional.** You can use the GitHub MCP Server without
installing or running Docker.

Choose the setup that fits your environment:

- **Hosted server:** Use a supported MCP client with the hosted
server and its supported authentication method.
- **Native execution:** Run a native Go build by following the
project's installation instructions.
- **Docker:** Use the existing Docker setup if you prefer
containerized execution.
