Summary

Exclude the repo-memory checkout's .git directory from Repo Assist's single-file schema check.

Failure addressed

Fresh memory initialization created notes.json, but validation rejected the directory because it counted .git as a second memory entry.

Validation

  • gh aw compile workflows/repo-assist.md --strict --validate --no-emit
  • metadata filtering fixture with .git and notes.json
  • git diff --check

Security review

This changes only the existing custom validation script. .git is gh-aw storage metadata and is not persisted as memory content. No secret, action, permission, redirect, or network destination is added.

Validate only persisted memory entries so a fresh notes.json can pass alongside the checkout's .git directory.
