Summary

A new IOTrust Dispatch front story on Jainta Paul's PoPETs 2026 paper, Sensor Privacy as a Spectrum, presented at PETS 2026 in Calgary. The current KPCW story automatically demotes into the briefs.

What's included

  • New lead article (news.json) with the Calgary group photo as the cover, the paper's Figure 2 placed inline, hyperlinks to the paper/venue/profiles, and citations. Written for both technical and non-technical readers, in a natural voice (no em dashes).
  • Article renderer (news/[id]/page.tsx): now supports in-article figure blocks and markdown-style inline links in body paragraphs. Backward compatible with existing string[] bodies.
  • New front-story design: a landscape cover gets its own image-led layout (wide framed photo, caption strip, serif headline below) instead of being forced into the old portrait panel. Portrait leads (e.g. KPCW) keep the tall side-by-side card. The cover caption is now data-driven rather than hardcoded to the KPCW story.
  • Publications (publications.json): added the PoPETs 2026 paper with accurate title, authors, venue, DOI, pages, abstract, and theme. It now appears in Recent Publications and on Jainta's and Miles Bovero's profiles (author-name matching).
  • Home #people fix: added a Research Interns group so interns (Shuyan Zhou) render on the home page, not just /people.
  • Dispatch archive (docs/dispatch-archive/): backed up the current "v1" front page and news index as a running front-page collection.

Checks

  • npm run lint ✓
  • npm run lint:links ✓ (0 failures)
  • npm run build ✓
  • Visually verified the new front story, the article (Figure 2 + inline links), and the demoted KPCW brief in a local dev render.
