Description

Restores the Codex (OpenAI) plugin presentation metadata that was lost when the root .codex-plugin/plugin.json was removed in 77cccb8. Per OpenAI's packaging guidance, OpenAI-specific presentation now lives under extensions["com.openai"] in the portable Agent Plugins plugin.json. This change adds that block (display name, short description, developer, category, capabilities, website), enforces it in scripts/check-plugin.mjs and tests/plugin.test.ts, and updates the support matrix in docs/reference/plugins.md. Claude, Copilot, Cursor and Gemini manifests are unchanged.

Checklist

  • I have read the Contributing Guide
  • My changes follow the existing code style
  • I have tested my changes locally
  • I have updated documentation as needed

Validation (Windows, Node 22):

  • npm test: passed (569 passed, 2 skipped, 0 failed)
  • npm run plugin:check: passed
  • npm run plugin:check:copilot: passed (Copilot CLI 1.0.98 discovered all seven skills)
  • npm run typecheck: passed
  • git diff --check: clean

Not run: Codex, Cursor and Gemini CLI loaders (not installed locally).

AI disclosure

Drafted and verified with GitHub Copilot (AI assistant); a new test failed before the manifest change and passed after it.

Declare OpenAI interface metadata under extensions["com.openai"] in plugins/sql-apps/plugin.json, replacing the deleted .codex-plugin manifest, and gate it in packaging checks and tests.
