Internal compiler error: java.lang.RuntimeException: Internal Error compiling at ProcessTaskManager #1561
Clone this project, checkout branch bugvsc, open it with code . --profile "new" --user-data-dir $HOME/new, trust it, accept to install Extension Pack for Java, and observe the error spring: Internal compiler error: java.lang.RuntimeException: Internal Error compiling /jarisbugs/src/main/java/io/github/oliviercailloux/jaris/credentials/KeyCredential.java at org.eclipse.jdt.internal.compiler.ProcessTaskManager.processing(ProcessTaskManager.java:139).
Oddly enough, I have been working on this project for months, and these files have not changed since long, but today suddenly the error appeared while I was working on another part of the code (unrelated), and now it will not disappear even though I have deleted all files but these three on that branch.
Perhaps related to this one but I thought better to open a new issue because that one apparently was linked to a bug that has been solved since, whereas I see the problem with the latest version of VS Code.
Hi Olivier Cailloux (@oliviercailloux), I'm an AI Support assistant here to help with your issue. While the team reviews your request, I wanted to provide some possible tips and documentation that might help you in the meantime.
Suggestions
Run Java: Clean the Java Language Server Workspace (⇧⌘P → “Java: Clean…”), then reload VS Code.
Delete the JDT LS metadata for this workspace (e.g. remove the .metadata/.plugins/org.eclipse.jdt.ls folder), then reimport the project.
Ensure you’re on the latest VS Code and latest Java Extension Pack (Java Language Support, Debugger, etc.).
If you have custom annotation processors, try disabling them ("java.parameters.annotationProcessing.enabled": false).
Duplicate Issue
This appears to be the same underlying JDT in-process compilation bug as reported in #1496: random Internal compiler error in VS Code without errors when building via Maven.
The team will respond to your issue shortly. I hope these suggestions are helpful in the meantime. If this comment helped you, please give it a 👍. If the suggestion was not helpful or incorrect, please give it a 👎. Your feedback helps us improve!

As a reply, the “clever assistant” has proudly found out that this is a duplicate of #1496 and decides to close the issue.
