Update from code changes: desktop manual update check

Summary

The desktop app's Settings window now has a Check for updates button next to the version, so you can check right away instead of waiting for the automatic check. If an update is available, the button changes to Update to and installs it the same way as the tab bar Update button.

• desktop.mdx Updates section: explains how to check manually from Settings and how the install button works.
• Added the same content to es/, fr/, and zh/desktop.mdx.
• SEO: shortened the es (162 characters) and fr (184 characters) page descriptions to under 160 characters.

English desktop.mdx adds a short pointer to Settings. es, fr, and zh desktop.mdx add matching Updates copy that also explains the button becomes Update to with the new version and installs like the tab bar Update button.
