Problem
CLI profiles still used the legacy shared-domain agent paths while the account guide and Desktop setup recommend dedicated Codex and Claude hostnames. A macOS rollback failure could remove the original config backup, and incomplete Desktop state could delete a credential still used by Codex.

Verification
macOS smoke, syntax and ShellCheck; Windows catalog mocks; static safety and profile contract checks passed locally. Native Windows DPAPI and official client checks run in the PR workflow.
