## administrivia
- furniture
- vqbc: come to conclusion about best furniture
- last time, settled on table for hot water, tables to replace current circle tables, chairs
- last week, we also wanted to figure out new supply table
- neither ULine or ikea had very good supply tables
- we have very specific dimensions that we need
- no bigger than 20 inches deep; otherwise, conflicts with sever room
- found one from home depot; posted link in #administrivia
- $137, a little taller than current table, a little smaller, has shelf underneath
- current suggested allocation: $1,550, including shipping
- most of furniature is coming from uline, one from ikea, one from home depot
- couldn't find better options to consolidate all from one place
- many restaurant supply tables, but more expensive, on wheels, stainless steel; doesn't fit environment
- also think it's a good idea to get self-healing mat for supply table
- vote: 12 unanimous
- So abt having rsos pay for printing
- 60 cents per page is currently the standard set by Creative Lab
- We can undercut them by going 50 cents or match them
- VQBC might have something for the cost to break even idk
- Could also use as leverage for bringing back STF fund with ASUC senators
- rsang: currently, 60 cents per color page at creative lab (next door); we could undercut them by doing 50 cents
- elenah: what printers do they use? we should figure this out before setting price
- vqbc: we could offer a much lower cost; 3000 pages for 10% usage toner, so 30K pages for $600 (estimate)
- if we assume this is accurate, 1K costs 20 dollars
- we could set a reasonable price for 50 pages of $5 at the very worst
- counting both toner and paper
- rsang: sounds very reasonable!
- math is in #administrivia
- elenah: this would allow us to up regular quotas as well
- vqbc: for regular user quota, can increase to 20 color pages
- Could also use as leverage for bringing back STF (student tech fee) fund with ASUC senators
- elenah: makes most sense to have them start at 0, then "refund" them pages as they pay
- there is now a stripe minimum, so you can't buy a $3 pin because donation minimum is $5
- michaelzls: accept cash?
- a lot of regulation to do so, i.e. safe box
- rsang: will defer to next BoD to get more member's inputs

## operations
- we should trial electric staplers as a possible long term solution for stapling - ericgu
- I will cry when it breaks bc our patrons have brain like berkeley - rsang
- ericgu: we should trial electric staplers as a possible long term solution for stapling
- rsang: I will cry when it breaks bc our patrons have brain like berkeley
- elenah: cheaper ones are so cheap ($50) that we don't have an excuse to not try
- possibly just get one, and see how it goes?
- current system is so bad, so even a potentially worse change is worth trying out
- rsang: ok we will try it out
- also found a $20 one
- ideally uses staplers we already have
- lafer:
## internal
- 6 tech talk form responses, will begin scheduling over the course of this and next week - ericgu

- ericgu: 6 tech talk form responses, will begin scheduling over the course of this and next week
- joiew:
- talked to emma, maybe sometime in december?
- joiew: round1
- maybe 24th of october?
- would like to see how many people go before doing stipend
- will send out form + talk to finance
- form should include whether or not you plan on spending money
- stonestown location
- round1 is free as long as you don't do anything
## finance
- are we in debt
- are we in debt
- finwan:
- $6000 taken out of account :(
- rollover issue is solved
- bought 6 black/white toners
- 3 in stasis until 15th october
- paper arrived this week
- printer screen replacement coming today
- ordered to finwan's place
- monitor broke, so put on buy sheet; put 3 just to be safe
- elenah: jingwen said: what if we had loanable drawing tablets?
- michaelzls: agreed
- don't know if it will be a big purchase; only 3
- won't get ones with screens, just basic wacom
- wacom is expensive but the only one with good drivers
- everything else is extremely finnicky
- wired ones are so much cheaper
- michaelzls: for monitors: prefer 1440p 120hz over 4k 60hz
- rsang: if you can find one
- however, it is nice that they're all uniform
- also would like color calibrator
- elenah: the graphics cards that jaysa bought were returned
- we should count how many we have to see how many more we want
- already approved to buy from last year, but should still have plan
- do that after BoD
- AMD 9700XT
## decal
- how class go bro
- erdaifuu: decal is going good
- 23 people attended
- VMs have been working very well, working on setting up ipv4
- some issues while accessing VMs while on campus VPN
- elenah: make sure they're selecting the correct option
- michaelzls: just give people an ssh command to copy and paste to ssh into carp
## design
- i keep getting ghosted I honestly think my messages are getting sent to spam
- angelawuuski: i can design many things
- michaelzls:
- talk to jingwen
- currently looking for redesign on login screen, poster for halloween, halloween lock screen, etc.
- basically anything works
## rebuild
- p r i nt
Meeting Adjourned at ${end_time}
- elenah: rewrote printhost again, works better now; haven't deployed it yet
- need to test more
- michaelzls: can you write test suite; better than doing manually, will be useful later
- also can do nix tests
- frusterating to develop because it is so integrated with every other service
- elenah: would also like to redo login screen
- currently using a very old version of greeter theme
- not worth trying to patch
- could start over from scratch; if so, just do something new instead of trying to emulate old version
- a lot of strange things, some unintuitive UI
- michaelzls: interesting thing about greetd is that you can literally use any sort of thing as the frontend
- rschuetz: issues with smokey today?
- will eventually deploy that config onto all computers
- elenah: seemingly fine
