Skipping CI for Draft Pull Request.
If you want CI signal for your change, please convert it to an actual PR.
You can still manually trigger a test run with /test all

Walkthrough

The pull request migrates networking-console-plugin API imports to @kubevirt-ui-ext/kubevirt-api. It adds shared resource models and localization entries, updates dependency and import-check configuration, and adds smoke tests for six resource list pages.

Changes

Networking API package migration

Layer / File(s) Summary
API dependency and shared model foundation
package.json, eslint.config.mjs, webpack.config.ts, src/utils/models/*, scripts/check-shared-modules.sh, .github/workflows/check-shared-modules.yml
Updates API and dynamic-plugin dependencies and adds a PatternFly override. ESLint registers eslint-plugin-import, disables import/no-cycle, and treats import/no-duplicates as an error. Shared models add IngressModel and translation keys. The Webpack loader excludes all node_modules paths. The shared-module script checks lockfile package declarations, and its workflow grants read-only repository contents access.
Shared utilities and networking resource imports
src/utils/*, src/templates/*, src/views/createprojectmodal/*, src/views/ingresses/*, src/views/nads/*, src/views/networkpolicies/*, src/views/routes/*, src/views/services/*, src/views/udns/*
Updates API imports to use @kubevirt-ui-ext/kubevirt-api, including named model exports and type-only Kubernetes imports. Ingress views and templates source IngressModel from @utils/models. The summaries report no changes to resource-view runtime behavior.

Note

The walkthrough was truncated because the summary exceeded the platform comment limit.

Merge Risk: 🟡 Moderate · up to b04a5

The prerelease dependencies need to be resolved before release. The new dependency check could also block a future valid update, so it should be narrowed before merging.

Full details: Docstring Coverage

Explanation

No functions found in the changed files to evaluate docstring coverage. Skipping docstring coverage check. Docstring coverage is scoped to functions touched by this diff. Analyzed 0 functions across 56 files. (2 skipped: 2 unsupported.)

Full details: Stable And Deterministic Test Names

Explanation

PASS: The PR adds Cypress tests with static titles. integration-tests/tests/list-pages.cy.ts:37 uses the fixed suite title List page smoke tests, and line 51 builds titles from the fixed LIST_PAGES entries (Ingresses, NetworkAttachmentDefinitions, NetworkPolicies, Routes, Services, and UserDefinedNetworks). No generated names, timestamps, IPs, namespaces, node names, or legacy metadata tokens appear in the titles. The other changed test file only consolidates imports.

Full details: Test Structure And Quality

Explanation

The check is not applicable to this pull request. The authoritative diff adds Cypress tests in integration-tests/tests/list-pages.cy.ts and changes no Ginkgo test files. Repository searches found no Ginkgo or ote.Informing() usage. Therefore, no Ginkgo-specific quality failure is introduced.

Full details: Microshift Test Compatibility

Explanation

PASS: The pull request adds a Cypress TypeScript test, not a new Ginkgo e2e test. The file uses Cypress describe, it, and cy.* APIs, and package scripts run it through Cypress. The MicroShift compatibility check does not apply.

Full details: Single Node Openshift (Sno) Test Compatibility

Explanation

PASS: The pull request adds Cypress TypeScript smoke tests in integration-tests/tests/list-pages.cy.ts, not Ginkgo e2e tests. The added tests only visit list pages and verify headings; they contain no multi-node or HA assumptions. SNO-specific checks are not required.

Full details: Topology-Aware Scheduling Compatibility

Explanation

PASS: The pull request does not add or modify deployment manifests, operator code, controllers, or scheduling configuration. The authoritative changed-file list contains application imports, localization, package/tooling files, smoke tests, a workflow permission change, and a shell validation script. The complete pull-request diff has no affinity, topology spread, node selector, toleration, taint, replica, PDB, or related scheduling terms. Therefore, the check is not applicable.

Full details: Ote Binary Stdout Contract

Explanation

PASS. The pull request changes only TypeScript/TSX, JSON, shell, MJS, and workflow files. The repository has no tracked Go files, OTE binaries, or Ginkgo/OpenShift Tests Extension entry points. Added tests use Cypress and contain no stdout writes. No changed lines add fmt/log/klog/os.Stdout/process.stdout/console.log or suite-level output.

Full details: Ipv6 And Disconnected Network Test Compatibility

Explanation

PASS. The pull request adds Cypress tests in integration-tests/tests/list-pages.cy.ts, not Ginkgo tests. The tests visit relative cluster-console paths and use the existing cluster login/logout helpers. They contain no hardcoded IPv4 addresses, IPv4-only parsing, or public/external host connections.

Full details: No-Weak-Crypto

Explanation

The pull-request diff contains no MD5, SHA1, DES, 3DES, RC4, Blowfish, or ECB usage. It adds no cryptographic implementation and no secret or token comparison. The existing md5 lockfile entry is unchanged, and changed files contain no crypto API usage.

Full details: Container-Privileges

Explanation

The pull request does not add or modify container/Kubernetes privilege settings. The changed workflow only adds permissions: contents: read, and the added diff contains no privileged, hostPID, hostNetwork, hostIPC, SYS_ADMIN, allowPrivilegeEscalation, or root/security-context settings.

Full details: No-Sensitive-Data-In-Logs

Explanation

PASS. The pull request adds no application logging or test logging that outputs passwords, tokens, API keys, PII, session IDs, hostnames, or customer data. The new Cypress test only calls existing login/logout helpers; the existing password entry uses { log: false }, and the only logout log is a static message.

🎯 Functional Correctness | 🔴 Critical | ⚡ Quick win

Import both models from the exported ./console entrypoint.

@kubevirt-ui-ext/kubevirt-api@2.1.5 does not export ./console/NetworkAttachmentDefinitionModel. This import does not resolve and blocks the supported build.

🎯 Functional Correctness | 🟠 Major | ⚡ Quick win

Import modelToGroupVersionKind from the package entrypoint.

@kubevirt-ui-ext/kubevirt-api@2.1.5 does not export ./console/modelUtils. This import can fail module resolution and block the build. The same invalid import exists in NADListEmpty.tsx, so apply the correction in both files.

Suggested fix
- import { modelToGroupVersionKind } from '@kubevirt-ui-ext/kubevirt-api/console/modelUtils';
+ import { modelToGroupVersionKind } from '@kubevirt-ui-ext/kubevirt-api/console';

Apply the same change in src/views/nads/list/components/NADListEmpty/NADListEmpty.tsx.

Assert that the list finishes loading.

The heading can appear while ListEmptyState still shows its loading skeleton or an error. Assert a rendered table or empty state, and reject .list-error-state-root.

Use stable versions for production dependencies.

The Console SDK dependencies use 5.1.0-prerelease.1. PatternFly component groups uses 6.8.0-prerelease.2. These production dependencies do not meet the release rule. Select supported stable versions before release, or defer this migration until stable versions are available. (raw.githubusercontent.com)

As per path instructions, “No pre-release or yanked versions in production.”

@rszwajko Understood. You are keeping these dependencies aligned with Console. I will not press for an independent version change.

The configured “No pre-release or yanked versions in production” rule still conflicts with that choice. This is a policy exception to clarify, not evidence of a specific security vulnerability.
