Adopts Fast Forward Changelog fragments and a reviewed version PR, normalizes the 13 published versions, and installs the bundled contributor skill at .agents/skills/fast-forward-changelog.

The maintainer selected @v0; it resolved to v0.2.0 / 2d3f84fa9e5350f03636153fdb3ae2a822e5ae60 during investigation. Publication remains disabled. Existing workflows, runners and shared Composer dependencies are preserved; PR reference discovery is enabled consistently. The native documented skill:install command installed the complete release payload with its portable provenance/hash receipt, license, references and example, without host aliases or global installation. Only this skill is unignored; agent configuration remains excluded from distribution archives.

Historical reconciliation

All 13 remote tags were verified and peeled to the commits below; each has a corresponding GitHub Release. Existing correct version-link definitions retain their exact bytes and order. Remove the empty Unreleased heading. Use UTC publication dates consistently: 1.2.0 becomes 2025-05-24 and 1.7.0 becomes 2026-10-17; the previous dates corresponded to local time. Directory support in config() moves from 1.3.0 to 1.0.0 because the first tag already implements it. Historical promises remain in their original context.

PR associations come from actual integrated changes: #1 ArrayAccess/remove, #2 PhpFileConfig/falsy values, #3 alias/Sphinx fix, #4 mascot, #5 statuses, #7 list aggregation, #9/#10/#11 Reports, #13 Wiki, #17 native arrays; 1.7.0 maps to #30–#37 by their delivered features. Later note-import or release-preparation PRs are not used as delivery evidence for older changes. Unproved PR identities remain absent.

Prepared notes use the official notes VERSION extractor, excluding the version heading and footer. All note links are inline. The task retains the concrete body-only API requests, unified diffs and before/after hashes. Older empty/abbreviated bodies gain curated notes, newer bodies gain delivery PR links, 1.6.0 loses its extra Full Changelog paragraph, and directory support is corrected in 1.0.0/1.3.0. No Release creation, tag movement, target/name/flag/asset change or live publication write is performed.

After separate authorization AND integration of the canonical history, revalidate the integrated SHA, reviews, threads, gates and all remote tags/Releases. Re-extract the official notes there, review the fresh diffs, apply only the approved PATCH /repos/php-fast-forward/config/releases/{id} requests containing body, and GET each Release to verify exact body equality and unchanged protected metadata/assets. Creating a historical Release today must never be presented as proof of a historical publication date.

Validation

Current HEAD: 4dc179ffe93977103e43a7263921835fff993146, branch codex/changelog-adoption.

  • Native v0.2.0 skill:install --check --json: current, with exact release provenance and payload hashes; repeated successfully in a second disposable clone. Git archive contains no agent configuration. Unrelated agent paths remain ignored.
  • Actionlint and git diff --check: pass. The fragment remains one independent patch note; no PR number is required before merging.
  • Migration rehearsal before the skill-only follow-up: check, format check/apply, status, backfill check and version dry-run/apply passed in disposable copies. Exactly one fragment consumed; all 13 historical bodies preserved; one new comparison link first; no Unreleased. Known PR fixture renders an inline link; unmerged PR discovery omits it correctly. Missing new notes and malformed fragments were rejected.
  • Earlier migration HEAD: 527 local tests, 2181 assertions, 85.19% coverage against the required 80%; no errors/failures, two Windows-only tests skipped locally. Current HEAD: Changelog policy/check and status plan pass; next version remains 1.7.1 with one patch fragment. All required remote checks passed, including PHP 8.3/8.4/8.5 and Analyze (actions); Windows persistence, runtime-only PHP 8.3, dependency health and CodeQL also passed. Test workflow attempt 1 hit a transient run-state validation error before the matrix; attempt 2 completed successfully.
  • Central-history edits use the library's real maintenance policy: live label grant by coisa, User ID 426835, with current effective admin permission. No Bot trailers, signatures or authorization evidence are forged and no checks are disabled.

No managed version PR existed. Its live Bot ownership/signature, current-base regeneration and privileged feedback pilot depend on approved integration of the caller; let the automation create its own branch. The moving v0 update policy and default-token workflow approval behavior remain explicit review considerations. Installing the files does not by itself prove activation in an already-running agent session.

No merge, version-PR integration, publication enablement or Release synchronization is authorized by this PR.

Release history and reconciliation
CHANGELOG.md, scripts/plan-release-reconciliation.py, docs/maintenance/changelog-adoption.md
Records release 1.7.0 and corrects historical changelog details. Adds a read-only planner that validates tags and generated notes, then outputs proposed release actions. The maintenance document inventories existing Releases and describes reconciliation safeguards and authorization steps.

Priority: ➖ Normal

Change: Other

Merge Risk: 🔵 Low · up to 46c09

An unresponsive command could stall release-reconciliation planning, but the planner makes no Release changes. The PR is mergeable with owner awareness of this bounded manual-workflow risk.

It hops away with dates in order.

1-6: LGTM!

The markdownlint MD041 warning does not apply here. The file is a changelog fragment, and the front matter and body format is required by the Fast Forward Changelog tool. The PR objectives also report that the v0.2.0 CLI check accepts this fragment as valid.

.github/workflows/changelog.yml: 1

7-9: 🔒 Security & Privacy

Do not remove pull_request_target for this reason.

The feedback workflow checks out the PR head as data, then runs the trusted runtime and Docker image from php-fast-forward/changelog@v0.2.0. Its feedback jobs grant contents: read; write permissions are limited to pull requests and statuses. The Dependabot path is restricted to same-repository Dependabot PRs and checks out the base SHA. The inspected shell steps pass event values through quoted environment variables and do not execute PR-controlled files.

⚠️ Unverified finding
Verification ran but could not confirm this finding. It is shown for review, not as a verified issue.

Document why each permission is required, and confirm each is the minimum.

The job grants contents: write, pull-requests: write, and statuses: write. The top-level permissions: {} is correct. The job-level grants widen the blast radius if the reusable workflow or its dependencies are compromised.

Add a comment for each scope. Confirm that contents: write is needed when publish: false is set. The version PR branch push probably needs it. Remove statuses: write if the reusable workflow does not post commit statuses.
