Routes Reports through the shared native Pages workflow so API documentation uses the PHP Fast Forward template design system. Pull requests build a preview artifact; pushes to main and manual runs retain their existing entry points. Caller permissions cap the callee at contents: read, with Pages and OIDC writes reserved for its isolated deployment job, and no inherited secrets.

Uses the shared workflow introduced by the merged php-fast-forward/dev-tools#363, now available at .github/workflows/reports-native.yml@main. The callee checks that fast-forward/phpdoc-bootstrap-template is at least 2.1.0, records its installed version and reference, and compares the generated identity assets with the selected template using SHA-256.

Validation: actionlint .github/workflows/reports.yml .github/workflows/tests.yml and git diff --check passed after fetching the explicit main refspec and merging the GitHub-confirmed current base. The diff contains only the Reports caller. Feature-branch Reports builds exercise the shared workflow; the isolated deployment job runs only for main.

📝 Summary

Summary by CodeRabbit

  • Chores
    • Automated reports now run for pull requests as well as main-branch updates and manual runs.
    • Automated test and reporting workflows use more limited access permissions. Test status reporting is adjusted for automated dependency updates.

Walkthrough

The reports workflow adds pull request runs and changes its reusable workflow call. The tests workflow reduces permissions and sets a reusable workflow input based on whether the actor is Dependabot.

Changes

Reports workflow

Layer / File(s) Summary
Reports workflow trigger and invocation
.github/workflows/reports.yml
The workflow adds pull request triggers, reduces contents permission, and calls reports-native.yml@main without inheriting caller secrets.

Tests workflow

Layer / File(s) Summary
Tests workflow permissions and input
.github/workflows/tests.yml
The workflow reduces permissions and passes publish-required-statuses as false for Dependabot actors and true otherwise.

Priority: ⬇️ Low

Estimated code review effort: 2 (Simple) | ~10 minutes

Change: Feature

Merge Risk: 🔵 Low · up to 7eead

Concurrent pull requests can miss report preview artifacts, and the reusable workflow follows a mutable upstream branch. Separating preview concurrency and pinning the workflow would reduce these bounded risks.

- Line 17: Replace the mutable @main reference in the reusable workflow’s uses
entry with a reviewed full commit SHA, and update that pin only through a
reviewed repository change.
- Line 6: Update the concurrency configuration associated with the pull_request
trigger to use a group scoped to the pull request, so runs for different PRs do
not cancel one another. Keep main deployment runs in a shared serialized group.
