The repository is configured for native GitHub Pages, but its old reports caller publishes through the legacy branch workflow. Adopt the shared native reports workflow to regenerate documentation using released Fast Forward template 2.1, approved Dash assets and the reading theme control.

The dependency analyser incorrectly treats the documented bundled middlewares/utils utility as unused: this HTTP bundle intentionally supplies it to downstream applications. Preserve that package contract with an exception limited to this package and the unused-dependency category, while continuing to enforce all other findings. Exclude the development-only analyser configuration from package archives.

The test caller supplies the ceiling needed by the checkout-free status publisher; test jobs keep read-only tokens. Remove unused secret inheritance. Publication runs only from main after successful reports and verifies the public identity assets against the installed template.

Validation: local dependency health passes; PHPUnit passes 2 tests / 40 assertions with 100% coverage and zero risky tests or warnings; scoped ECS and actionlint pass. A fresh production Composer installation verifies both the HTTP service provider and availability of the documented companion utility. GitHub checks validate PHP 8.3, 8.4 and 8.5 before merge.

📝 Summary

Summary by CodeRabbit

  • Chores
    • Updated the reports automation to run for pushes to the main branch, pull requests, and manual starts.
    • Adjusted access permissions for the reports and test workflows.
    • Updated test status reporting so required statuses are published for non-Dependabot runs, but not for Dependabot runs.

Walkthrough

The reports workflow adds a pull request trigger, changes its reusable workflow call, and reduces permissions. The tests workflow reduces permissions and sets a required-status publishing input based on the actor.

Changes

Reports workflow

Layer / File(s) Summary
Reports workflow dispatch and call
.github/workflows/reports.yml
The workflow adds pull requests as a trigger, reduces contents permission to read, and calls reports-native.yml@main without inheriting secrets.

Tests workflow

Layer / File(s) Summary
Tests permissions and status input
.github/workflows/tests.yml
The workflow retains read access to contents and actions and write access to statuses. It sets publish-required-statuses to false for Dependabot and true for other actors.

Merge Risk: 🔵 Low · up to 12606

The reports and tests workflows now run with narrower permissions, and the reports caller no longer passes repository secrets. The shared reports workflow is still referenced by the main branch rather than a fixed commit. Upstream changes could therefore alter what runs with Pages deployment rights. Pinning to a commit is a recommended follow-up, but it does not block merging.

A rabbit checks the workflow gate,
Then trims the keys that grant access.
Reports hop to a native path,
While tests set statuses by actor.
All done, the rabbit bounds away.

write to the publisher jobs if the workflow supports job-level permissions,
retaining workflow-level scope only if it cannot be narrowed. Ensure callers
grant the required permission ceiling.

avoid granting the called workflow unnecessary repository secrets: remove
inherited secrets if they are not required, or pass only the specific secrets it
