fix(mobile): Home list no longer opens scrolled down - #27155
On iOS, Home can open scrolled down, with the environment and project filters (and the first section label) hidden under the header until you scroll up by hand. It reproduces on a cold launch when the thread list is longer than the screen and Home has an unsent draft.
Cause
Home's restore effect also ran on mount, with the search-restoration offset of 0. It requested -insets.top, but React Native's iOS scrollTo clamps against the raw contentInset, which excludes the header inset UIKit adds under contentInsetAdjustmentBehavior="automatic". The list landed at y: 0 instead of its resting offset of y: -116. The thread feed and pull request detail already pass scrollToOverflowEnabled for this reason; #24284 moved Home to the same header handling without it.
Change
Home's restore now runs only when search returns to resting, matching PullRequestsScreen. It moves into useRestoreOffsetAfterSearch so that transition can be tested without rendering all of Home. Remount restoration still uses initialScrollOffset; a fresh list starts without a programmatic scroll.
Home passes scrollToOverflowEnabled, as the thread feed does. Without it, closing search while scrolled to the top had the same problem.
Scope and approval
This fixes an obvious Home layout defect and fits CONTRIBUTING.md's small bug-fix exception. The overflow prop is iOS-only; the search-transition guard also applies on Android. PullRequestsScreen and the reviewers list clamp the same way for their "back to top" scrolls, but I left them out because I could not verify them here.
Verification
iPhone 17 Pro simulator, iOS 26.5, freshly built development client, isolated backend seeded with 62 threads, one unsent draft, and a larger text size so the list overflows:
Before: the recorded cold launch rests at y: 0, with the filters and "Unsent" label under the header.
After: two cold launches show the filters and "Unsent" label below the header from Home's first visible frame.
Skipping only the mount-time restore, and adding only scrollToOverflowEnabled, each fixed the cold launch on their own. Closing search at the top needs the prop.
Closing search after scrolling down returned to the same scrolled position. Checked with screenshots, not recorded.
useRestoreOffsetAfterSearch.test.tsx covers the transition: a resting mount scrolls nothing, returning from active or expanded search restores the saved offset, and a changed offset while resting scrolls nothing. All three fail against the old on-mount behavior. The home and workspace mobile tests pass with it (119 tests), as do mobile typecheck, format, lint and knip.
The recordings were taken before the restore moved into the hook. The behavior is the same, but I did not re-record.
Not verified: an iOS 27 iPhone (the iOS 27.1 simulator here only runs the iPhone Duo, whose Home layout did not show the bug), Android, iPad, and iOS before 26.

Home restored its saved scroll offset on mount as well as when search closed. React Native's iOS scrollTo clamps against the raw contentInset, which excludes the header inset UIKit adds, so that scroll could leave the first rows under the header. Restore only when search returns to resting, and let programmatic scrolls reach the automatic header inset, as the thread feed already does.

Add regression coverage for the restoration transition.
Test both contracts: a resting mount must not call scrollToOffset, and an active or expanded search returning to resting must restore the saved offset. Follow the lowest-level existing test pattern.

Agreed, thanks. Added useRestoreOffsetAfterSearch.test.tsx (ff9c79e). The restore now lives in a small hook so the transition is tested without mounting all of Home. It covers a resting mount scrolling nothing, active or expanded search returning to resting restoring the saved offset, and a changed offset while resting scrolling nothing. All three fail against the old on-mount behavior. The recordings still show the iOS inset behavior; they were taken before the extraction and I did not re-record.
merged current main into the contributor branch without rebasing. main now provides the same search-transition guard through useSearchScrollRestoration, with Activity reconnection coverage. resolved the conflict using that shared hook and removed the duplicate home hook and test. preserved the ios overflow scrolling fix. the final diff against main is two added lines in HomeScreen.

fresh native verification on this merged head remains unverified on linux. chrome does not render this native Home screen or reproduce UIKit inset clamping. the contributor subsequently supplied ios and android launch/search/tab-return evidence on the prior head in this discussion; true remount remains unverified. no fresh runtime capture is claimed.
no changed behavior could be exercised on this linux boat vm. this is an unverifiable result, not a runtime pass.
inspected the description, discussion, four commits, and all four changed files at head 11c94d84aaec7ecad348b7df278fdd3fcf0683a9. fetched the exact contributor head and current main. the change is confined to native mobile home: skip mount-time offset restoration, restore after search returns to resting, and permit ios overflow scrolling beneath the automatic header inset. the web client does not render this screen. the reported ci snapshot has 29 successful checks, zero failing and zero pending; that does not prove native behavior.

main reproduction, fresh native launch with an overflowing thread list and unsent draft, search cancellation at the top and at a saved deep offset, saved-offset remount, and android remain unverified. no real codex turn or client/provider integration was exercised.
device_list returned: Agent device access is turned off for this environment.adb devices -l listed no devices; this linux vm has no xcrun/ios simulator. the repository mobile verification skill requires stopping when device access is unavailable. chrome cannot exercise UIKit automatic content-inset clamping, and narrowing the web viewport would test a different client.
no dev server was started, no data was seeded, and no source changes or pushes were made. there are no fresh screenshots or recordings to attach. verification needs an enabled native device host, then matching main/head launches with app-created real threads and an unsent draft, plus the search and remount checks above.

Setup: isolated dev backend with 59 seeded threads, one unsent draft, and a larger text size so the list overflows. iPhone 17 Pro simulator on iOS 26.5, and a physical Android Seeker on Android 16, both running this head. For the iOS baseline I put main's HomeScreen.tsx back in the same checkout.

main gives the same three numbers on iOS, so the only difference is the launch position above. On Android the cold launch also rests at the top.
Still not verified: an iPhone on iOS 27 (the iOS 27.1 simulator here only offers the iPhone Duo, and the physical iPhone could not be driven), iPad, the Duo, and iOS before 26. Android was run on the head only, with no main baseline. The tab round trip may keep Home mounted, so restore through a true remount is not separately exercised.

On iOS, Home can open scrolled down, with the environment and project filters (and the first section label) hidden under the header until you scroll up by hand. It reproduces on a cold launch when the thread list is longer than the screen and Home has an unsent draft.
