Backport of #154195 to 3.14. Apply the fallback to the older single-file unwinder and keep its FrameInfo.lineno API and 4096-byte linetable limit. Allocate fallback names locally to preserve the stable runtime layout. Sampling binary tests do not apply to this branch. The dead-process assertion is Linux-only because the 3.14 macOS reader does not raise ProcessLookupError.

External inspection and asyncio tools tests pass on debug and free-threaded builds (43 tests; 2 and 1 skipped), including oversized metadata with debug ranges disabled.
