Now that the repo is public, the README opens for someone who has never seen .rx. The spec-reader material is kept below it, unchanged apart from heading levels. This PR is rebased on main, including #7.

New sections

  • Why: the Solid 2.0 semantics enforced statically (spec/08, 99), with nothing added at run time (spec/11). The AI claim is backed only by examples/ai and examples/ai2, where 70 of 71 frames were predicted (examples/README.md).
  • A taste: source, equation and write position (E-1, W-1, W-2), then async with loading/errored. The output shown for both refusals (WRITE_TO_NON_SOURCE, UNHANDLED_FAILURE) is the real output of ref/check.ts, and both accepted programs pass the checker.
  • What's here: a table of the directories, including tooling/rx-language-server and tooling/vscode-rx. It says nothing is published yet (the three npm packages, plus the extension through tooling/RELEASING.md). It also notes that Solid's Vite plugin has merged built-in .rx support but not released it.
  • Try it: the checker and interpreter run with Node 22 alone (checked with no npm install). For the Solid runners, the crate and the .vsix, it points to CONTRIBUTING and the READMEs for each part.
  • Reading the spec: a suggested reading order. The old Layout, Discipline, Rule IDs and References sections follow as subsections.

The status note and the License section are unchanged.

What .rx is and why, two checked examples with the checker's real errors,
status of the packages and tooling, how to try it from the repo, and a
reading order for the spec. The layout, discipline, rule IDs and references
sections are kept below for spec readers.
