📋 Summary

Adds an optional Phase 10 to the build-plugin skill. Once a plugin is built and deployed, the agent offers to raise a pull request contributing it back to this repository.

Screenshot 2026-10-13 at 17 32 07
  • Always asks first. It asks even in autonomous mode or when earlier gates were waived, and never raises a PR without an explicit yes.
  • Sensitivity review. Checks for secrets and organisation-specific data: instance hosts, tenant and account IDs, people and company names, and internal tools. It searches for the values used during the build, runs a pattern sweep, has a sub-agent read every file, and checks the branch history. Every finding is resolved with the user.
  • Follows the repo's PR guidance. Picks the Add a new plugin or Change to an existing plugin template, reading it at run time. Applies the one-plugin-per-PR scope check, the version rules, the Add <name> plugin title style, and an optional CODEOWNERS entry.
  • Code of Conduct. Asks the user explicitly and ticks the box only on an explicit "I agree". If they don't agree, it doesn't raise the PR.
  • Works without gh. Offers to install it, or falls back to git plus a browser link to GitHub's PR page.
  • Explains what happens next. Automated checks, then CodeRabbit review, then SquaredUp team review, then merge and release to all SquaredUp users.

Also in this PR:

  • SKILL.md gets a checklist entry, a Phase 10 outline, an updated description, and a skill version bump to 1.1.0.
  • AGENTS.md mentions the new step and drops the cspell.json row.
  • .github/CODEOWNERS is tidied to anchored, sorted /plugins/<Name>/ entries.

🔍 Scope of change

  • Repository metadata or configuration
  • CI / automation

Phase 10 asks the user whether to raise a pull request contributing the
finished plugin to squaredup/plugins. On a yes it reviews the plugin and
its branch history for secrets and organisation-specific data, guides
safe screenshots, fills the matching PR template, and opens the PR only
after the user approves the files and description.

📝 Walkthrough

The build-plugin skill now documents an optional, user-approved workflow to contribute a deployed plugin. The guidance covers prerequisite checks, sensitive-data review, branch preparation, PR submission, and follow-up. CODEOWNERS patterns are root-anchored, and the plugin anatomy table no longer lists cspell.json.

Changes: Plugin contribution workflow

Layer / File(s) Summary

In a fork, origin is the contributor's fork and can be behind, so
fetch and branch from the remote that points at squaredup/plugins.
Drop the repository argument from gh repo fork --remote, which gh
rejects, and check the staged CODEOWNERS diff for unrelated edits.

Copy the plugin folder aside and stash its uncommitted changes before
switching, so git can't refuse the switch, and pick an unused branch
name when plugins/<PluginName> already exists locally.

gh doesn't accept an organisation in <owner>:<branch>, so a direct push
to squaredup/plugins passes the bare branch name; forks keep the login.

🎯 Functional Correctness | 🟡 Minor | ⚡ Quick win

Run post-fix validation and deployment from the versioned plugin directory.

The sensitivity-review step does not change from the repository root to plugins/<PluginName>/v<N>/ before rerunning validation and deploy-plugin. The deployment skill requires that directory, and the CLI validates the current directory. The documented flow can therefore validate the repository root or fail before deployment.

Suggested fix
-After fixing, **re-run `squaredup validate --json`** and redeploy with `deploy-plugin` if anything other than docs changed, so the PR ships what was tested. Re-run the sweep until it comes back clean, then tell the user plainly that it did.

Revert the skill description so triggering is unchanged, drop the

Ask about contributing once, so iterative edit-and-deploy sessions
