Please look into this

p1 <- ggplot(mtcars) + geom_point(aes(mpg, disp))
p2 <- ggplot(mtcars) + geom_boxplot(aes(gear, disp, group = gear))

p1 + p2
#> Error in `ggplot_add()`:
#> ! Can't add `p2` to a <ggplot> object.

Created on 2025-10-22 with reprex v2.1.1

    This appears to be a duplicate of issue #448. Please update your ggplot2 package, as is_ggplot was exported in ggplot2 version 3.5.2.

    I think the CRAN ggplot2 req should be bumped to make this clear, as it currently states:

    Version: 	1.3.2
Imports: 	[ggplot2](https://cran.r-project.org/web/packages/ggplot2/index.html) (≥ 3.0.0),
