Resolve and apply the current theme src/contexts/ThemeContext.tsx |
ThemeProvider uses layout effects to apply the resolved theme and set up the system-theme listener. When the preference is system and a media query is available, listener setup invokes its handler after registration to apply the current system preference. |

The startup path now applies the current desktop theme before repaint, addressing the reported light-theme flash; no actionable merge risk remains.

…ange missed during React startup on macOS
On Linux the app comes up light although the desktop is set to dark, roughly every second launch, and stays light until it is restarted. Chromium resolves prefers-color-scheme from the desktop portal asynchronously, shortly after the first window opens, and an update landing between ThemeProvider's render-time sample and its subscription is dispatched with no listener attached.

I fixed the PR again, resolving the conflicts. Any chance this gets merged soon? |
On Linux the app comes up light although the desktop is set to dark, roughly every second launch, and stays light until it is restarted.
Root cause: Chromium resolves prefers-color-scheme from the desktop portal asynchronously, some 100-200 ms after the first window opens. ThemeProvider samples the media query while rendering and only subscribes in an effect that runs after paint, so an update landing in between is dispatched with no listener attached and the stale value sticks.
Calling the handler once after addEventListener picks up the current value.
Measured on GNOME 50 / Wayland with color-scheme prefer-dark, six launches each under CPU load: 5/6 light before, 6/6 dark after the fix.
