100+ Python Projects Challenge

Build useful things. Learn modern Python. From scripts to AI agents.

A project-based Python learning challenge. Instead of solving isolated exercises, each project builds something you can run, use, and extend.

This repository started in 2021 and reached 15 projects. In 2026, the challenge is being revived with a clearer learning path, modern Python practices, and optional AI upgrades.

Progress

16 / 100+ projects completed

2026 Learning Path

The goal is still 100+ projects, but the challenge is now organized into levels so you can follow a practical progression rather than a random list of demos.

Level Theme Target
1 Python Basics 15 projects
2 Useful Scripts 15 projects
3 Files & Automation 10 projects
4 Web & APIs 15 projects
5 Data & Visualization 10 projects
6 Images / Audio / Video 10 projects
7 AI with Python 15 projects
8 AI Agents / Real Apps 10 projects

See the proposed next projects in ROADMAP.md.

A New Pattern: Basic → Better → AI

New and gradually refreshed projects may include three layers:

  • Basic — solve the problem with simple, readable Python.
  • Better — improve structure with modern Python practices such as pathlib, type hints, tests, CLI arguments, logging, and packaging.
  • AI Upgrade — where it genuinely adds value, extend the same project with local or cloud AI.

The AI layer is optional. The project should still teach useful Python without it.

Repository Structure

The original 001–015 project links are intentionally preserved so existing bookmarks and forks do not break. Future projects will use a more consistent per-project structure, and older projects can be modernized gradually rather than through a disruptive rewrite.

Typical new project structure:

    ├── README.md
    ├── main.py
    ├── tests/
    └── assets/

Philosophy

This repository is not meant to be a collection of 100 toy snippets.

The idea is simple:

  1. Build something small enough to finish.
  2. Learn a few Python concepts while building it.
  3. Make it actually runnable.
  4. Improve it when you learn better techniques.
  5. Gradually move from scripts to real applications and AI agents.

Learn Python by building things.
