fix(mobile): the Android split slides as one rigid strip with the keyboard - #26328
When the composer's keyboard shows or hides on a wide Android layout, the sidebar and detail column used to animate their widths. Every frame re-laid out the whole row, including the thread feed, and that shared the UI thread with the keyboard's own insets animation. The feed either re-wrapped every frame and wobbled, or jumped to its final width ahead of the slide.
This does what UIKit does for the iOS split view: lay out once, then animate frames. While the composer edits, the sidebar and the detail column keep the widths React laid them out at. Both only translate, driven by keyboard-controller's progress shared value on the UI thread. The detail column sits at the sidebar's resting edge and rides the keyboard's share of the slide, so the feed never re-wraps mid-transition.
The navigation rail stays while the keyboard collapses the sidebar (only the list pane collapses, as Material's rail does); hiding it on its own timer made the detail column land late and clip. The column takes its final width at once, so on the way back a strip the sidebar's width is left at the right edge; the detail card's header and canvas continue past its edge while the keyboard moves, so the card reads as continuous. The sidebar leaves the row (absolutely positioned) while the keyboard holds it. The content column drops its opaque background rather than raising the sidebar's zIndex, because a zIndex change on Android reorders the native views and drops the editor's focus.
No new native code. The earlier native options were tried and dropped: Fabric's LayoutAnimation on Android is experimental (off by default) and fought Reanimated and the list.
Evidence (Simlock pool, Pixel Tablet emulator, production JS bundle)
Pool emulators record at about 10 fps, so these show layout correctness (a rigid strip, no re-wrap mid-slide), not frame pacing. Smoothness still needs a check on hardware.

The sidebar and the detail column keep the widths React laid them out at and only translate, driven by the keyboard's progress on the UI thread, so a keyboard transition relays nothing out per frame.

Macroscope's review found this PR approvable — The change makes Android split panes slide together with the keyboard instead of resizing each frame. The reported thread-clipping issue remains subject to the separate correctness gate; the remaining changes are confined to presentation.
Notes:
This verdict was updated automatically after the outstanding correctness findings were resolved. Macroscope did not re-review the code.

The rail ran its own timer, so the detail column landed a rail-width short and covered the sidebar's corner until it caught up.

…lapses the sidebar
Only the list pane collapses, as Material's rail does. Riding the strip, the rail pushed the detail column past its own column and clipped it.

Android split-view keyboard transitions now keep the sidebar’s resting width and translate the sidebar and content together. During intermediate keyboard progress, overlays cover the exposed strip.

Summary
Sidebar and content transition metrics apps/mobile/src/features/layout/AdaptiveWorkspaceLayout.tsx
The layout retains the navigation rail when the keyboard sets aside the sidebar. It calculates the sidebar’s resting width, synchronizes sidebar and content translation, and uses toolbar layout metrics for the header height.
The sidebar is positioned at the navigation rail’s edge. During keyboard-held transitions, the content uses a fixed-width view at the sidebar’s resting edge. Header and thread-canvas overlays cover the exposed strip during intermediate progress.
pingdotgg/t3code#26297 — This PR changes the same AdaptiveWorkspaceLayout keyboard transition and sidebar/detail-pane positioning.

# useReanimatedKeyboardAnimation
`useReanimatedKeyboardAnimation` is a hook which gives access to two reanimated values:
* `height` - value which changes between 0 and keyboardHeight;
* `progress` - value which changes between 0 (keyboard closed) and 1 (keyboard opened).
## Example
`import { useReanimatedKeyboardAnimation } from "react-native-keyboard-controller";
const { height, progress } = useReanimatedKeyboardAnimation();

Also have a look on example app for more comprehensive usage.
## Using with class component
`import {
KeyboardController,
KeyboardContext,
AndroidSoftInputModes,
} from "react-native-keyboard-controller";
class KeyboardAnimation extends React.PureComponent {
// 1. use context value
static contextType = KeyboardContext;
componentDidMount() {
// 2. set input mode for android to `adjustResize`
// (can be omitted if you already have `adjustResize` in `AndroidManifest.xml`)
KeyboardController.setInputMode(
AndroidSoftInputModes.SOFT_INPUT_ADJUST_RESIZE,
);
}
componentWillUnmount() {
// 2. return to default input mode (for Android)
// in order not to break other part of your app
KeyboardController.setDefaultMode();
}
render() {
// 3. consume reanimated values 😊
const { reanimated } = this.context;
}

Keep the overhang visible while the keyboard hides.
keyboardWillHide clears the keyboard-dependent layout state before the keyboard transition completes. When composerKeyboardActive becomes false, the content returns to its narrower settled width while keyboardProgress can still be 1. The strict upper-bound check hides the overhang at that endpoint and exposes the row’s bg-header background instead of the thread canvas. Include the endpoint in the overhang condition.

Both only translate, driven by keyboard-controller's

The detail column sits at the sidebar's resting edge and rides the keyboard's share of the slide, so the feed never re-wraps mid-transition.The navigation rail stays while the keyboard collapses the sidebar (only the list pane collapses, as Material's rail does); hiding it on its own timer made the detail column land late and clip. The column takes its final width at once, so on the way back a strip the sidebar's width is left at the right edge; the detail card's header and canvas continue past its edge while the keyboard moves, so the card reads as continuous. The sidebar leaves the row (absolutely positioned) while the keyboard holds it. The content column drops its opaque background rather than raising the sidebar's
