Add the remote CacheTool runner: pinned download verification, safe writable paths, bounded subprocesses and output forwarding.
Keep this layer's Go tests independent of PHP by removing remote-script execution tests and their local SSH fixtures. Cover CacheTool input preparation and initialization coordination in Go.
Why?
Provide the OPcache reset step used by SSH deployment activation without requiring PHP for this layer's tests.
How was this tested?
mise exec -- go test ./internal/deployment/ssh ./internal/shop
mise exec -- go vet ./internal/deployment/ssh
Compiled the deployment packages at the top of the rebased stack and ran the new Go tests there.
Remote PHP behavior no longer has automated coverage in this layer. Later stack layers retain their existing PHP tests.
The SSH deployment code now constructs CacheTool input and adds PHP helpers to validate, prepare, and run CacheTool remotely. The changes also remove several SSH initialization tests and fixtures, replace one initialization test, and update CacheTool include-configuration tests.
Changes: SSH CacheTool support
Layer / File(s)
Summary
Build and test CacheTool input internal/deployment/ssh/ssh_cachetool.go, internal/deployment/ssh/ssh_cachetool_test.go
The SSH backend reads and validates CacheTool configuration, returns no input when disabled, and otherwise provides pinned release metadata and a 30-second timeout. Tests cover disabled, enabled, and invalid configurations.
Validate remote settings and bound execution internal/deployment/ssh/ssh_cachetool.php
The PHP helpers validate CacheTool options and paths, reject protected deployment paths, and run commands with timeouts and bounded output.
Prepare CacheTool and run reset internal/deployment/ssh/ssh_cachetool.php
The PHP helpers verify or download the PHAR, create temporary configuration files, and run reset commands. Cleanup removes tracked temporary files and isolated web endpoint directories.
Several SSH initialization and remote-layout tests and their local deployment helpers are removed. One initialization test now uses an in-memory store. CacheTool include tests directly check explicit false and inherited true enabled values.

With CacheTool enabled on SSH hosts running PHP 8.2 or 8.3, the OPcache reset step will likely fail. Pin a compatible release or check the remote PHP version before merging.

Add coverage for the host-level override and the loader call site.
The test calls applyIncludedCachetoolEnabled directly. It covers only the environment-level Cachetool.Enabled branch.
The removed tests loaded real include files. They exercised the call in internal/shop/config.go after mergo.Merge. Nothing now fails if that call is removed or moved before the merge. In that case, an explicit enabled: false in an included config is silently ignored.
The Hosts loop in the helper also has no test. An include that sets enabled: false for a named host would not be checked.
Add one case with Hosts entries to this table. Optionally, keep one small loader test with an include file. A temporary directory through t.TempDir() is enough. It does not need PHP or SSH.
As per coding guidelines, **/*_test.go: "Unit tests alongside source files (*_test.go)".

This function pretty much looks like a generic helper and not really that tied to the cachetool.
Maybe we want to prepend it as an own "library" instead to prevent later issues with redefinition or introducing duplicates?

Yes, that's true. I though more of prepending the lib script in the pipe to have it available for scripts that need it. However, also not the cleanest solution unfortunately.
Anyway we can keep that for now as is. If the number similar functions grows we may consider such a solution maybe.
The reason will be displayed to describe this comment to others. Learn more.
This function is quite long and mixes many validation steps and cachetool download using curl command.
We could actually also download the cachetool using PHP's curl. However, keep running the command is fine too.
I'd prefer to split this function a bit more up for better future maintainability and readability, especially as with validation and a download its actually quite important. Should not add too much additional lines to the script.
