What and why

Declare object shapes with type X = { … } instead of interface. interface stays only where a declaration extends another type (HighlightOptions, DecoratedRenderOptions, rehype Options, React CodeProps, CorpusGap). This makes the convention consistent across packages, tests, scripts, and docs.

#12 is stacked on this PR. No behavior or public API change.

Validation

  • bun run check passes.
  • A golden comparison against main hashes 5,517 outputs (tokens, HTML, decorated rendering, chunked streams with patch offsets) across every repository file and test input: 0 differences.
  • Bundle sizes are unchanged.

Checklist

  • bun run check passes
  • Tests cover the change (no behavior change; existing tests and golden comparison)
  • Changeset added (bunx changeset), or not needed for docs, tests, or internal changes
  • Docs updated if behavior or APIs changed

Summary by CodeRabbit

  • Refactor
    • Standardized object-shaped type declarations across the library and its documentation. Existing members and runtime behavior remain unchanged, but affected public types can no longer be extended through declaration merging. Types that extend other types remain interfaces.

Use `type X = { … }` for object shapes and keep `interface` only where a declaration extends another type. No behavior or public API change.

Use major releases for the type-level API break.

The changeset documents that the converted public types no longer support module augmentation. Consumers that augment these types can receive TypeScript errors after a patch upgrade. Change both release levels to major.
