refactor(kirari): describe function syntax per language - #12
Conversation
WalkthroughFunction classification now uses syntax configuration supplied by each language instead of language-name dispatch. Resumable streams use the language-provided classifier. The pull request also adds architecture documentation and updates bundle measurements and the gzip budget. ChangesFunction Classification

Move per-language function detection out of definitions.ts into a FunctionSyntax object in each language file. classifyDefinitions is now language-agnostic and reads declaration keywords, literal forms, annotations, and call styles from that object. Output is unchanged. The language-specific objects add about 200 bytes gzip to the all-languages bundle, so its budget rises from 23,200 to 23,400 bytes. Core and JavaScript bundles are unchanged.
ARCHITECTURE.md maps the core package for contributors, including per-language FunctionSyntax. Documented sizes now match bun run size: core 3,735, JavaScript 4,252, all languages 23,171, highlight() wrapper 4,153 bytes gzip.

Fix the Function names link.
The heading on Line 65 generates #function-names-in-other-languages, not #function-names. The current link does not reach the section. Change the fragment to #function-names-in-other-languages. (github.com)

Guard classification on the definitions callback.
A resumable custom language named python can omit definitions. The first non-empty write then calls language.definitions! and can throw a TypeError. Full tokenization skips definition classification when the callback is absent. Derive classification from the callback.

What and why
Per-language function detection used to live inside
grammars/definitions.ts, keyed by language name. This moves each language's rules into aFunctionSyntaxobject in its own language file: declaration keywords, literal forms, modifiers, annotations, call styles, and language-specific forms such as Clojure#(…), Rust closures, Ruby stabby lambdas, and Scala lambdas.classifyDefinitionsis now language-agnostic and reads only that object, so adding or fixing a language no longer touches the shared classifier. The Python stream callslanguage.definitionsinstead of passing the language name. Also adds
ARCHITECTURE.md, a map of the core package for contributors linked fromCONTRIBUTING.md, and refreshes the documented bundle sizes to matchbun run size.Stacked on #11. No behavior or public API change.
Validation
bun run checkpasses.mainover 5,517 hashed outputs (tokens, HTML, decorated rendering, chunked streams with patch offsets): 0 differences.mainhighlight()wrapperThe all-languages budget rises to 23,400 so the PRs stacked above have room.
The docs previously listed slightly older figures (4,146 wrapper, 4,247 JavaScript, 22,960 all languages).
