Summary

Adds an Issue assignment — claim before you work section to CLAUDE.md, identical to LeanerCloud/cloud-commitments-cli#2202. LeanerCloud/cloud-commitments-mcp#62 and LeanerCloud/cloud-commitments-platform#892 merged an earlier revision of it, without the later shared-login and search-cap refinements. Several people and their agents can then work through the issue queue in parallel without fixing the same thing twice.

  • Pick the highest-priority unowned issue first (priority/p0 → p3, oldest first, then unlabelled), skipping status/blocked, status/needs-info and status/wontdo, and anything with an open PR. Includes gh queries with --limit 1000 (GitHub search caps results at 1000; split by created: windows if a query hits it).
  • Claim it before writing code: self-assign, or comment Claiming: working on this without write access. Then re-check; the earliest claim wins.
  • Assigned or claimed issues are off-limits. After 7 days with no activity and no PR, ask the owner. If there's no reply after 3 more days, a takeover comment supersedes only the stale owner's claim and the assignment moves over.
  • PRs use Closes #N (feeds the existing label-mirroring rule). Unassign yourself and leave a note when you drop an issue.
  • Larger untracked work (e.g. UI/integration) gets an assigned issue first so it shows as taken.

Docs-only change; no runtime code touched.

No closing issue: this is a contributor docs change, so there are no issue labels to mirror under the PR labeling rule.

Summary by CodeRabbit

  • Documentation
    • Added guidance for selecting open issues by priority and age, skipping blocked, needs-information, and wont-do issues, and accounting for search result limits.
    • Clarified how to check for existing claims and related pull requests before taking an issue, and how to record a claim before coding.
    • Documented how active and stale claims, shared worker identities, maintainer assignments, takeovers, and releases affect issue ownership.
    • Added instructions to link pull requests to issues and release and unassign issues when work stops without a pull request.

Document how people and their agents pick issues in priority order and
claim them by self-assignment (or a claim comment without write access)
before starting, so two contributors never fix the same issue in
parallel. Same section as LeanerCloud/cloud-commitments-cli#2202 and
LeanerCloud/cloud-commitments-mcp#62.

📝 Walkthrough

CLAUDE.md adds mandatory procedures for selecting issues, checking and claiming ownership before coding, managing claims, and linking work to pull requests. It also defines how to release claims when work is dropped.

Before / after behavior

  • observed — Modified behavior in CLAUDE.md: Added mandatory issue-selection and ownership procedures: choose eligible issues by priority and age, check for existing claims and PRs, post a timestamped claim before coding, and follow the specified release and stale-claim takeover rules. The instructions also require linking the PR to its issue and releasing work that is dropped without a PR.

Assignment times aren't visible to gh issue view and keyword matching both
misses takeovers and keeps released claims, so claims, takeovers and
releases are now marker comments whose timestamps decide precedence.

Synced from the sibling PRs: claims, takeovers and releases now use Claiming: / Taking over: / Released: marker comments, whose timestamps decide the earliest claim (assignment times aren't visible to gh issue view).

Worker ids for agents sharing a login, maintainer override, a command
for releasing (post a new Released: marker), a higher result limit with
a note that it truncates silently.

…rride, show assignees in the claim check

Rewrites steps 2, 3 and 5 for readability: commands in fenced blocks
wrapped under 100 columns, [<worker-id>] in every marker example, the
override limited to a maintainer's assignment or Taking over:, and the
post-claim check printing assignees alongside the markers.

Independent review verdict: CLEAN at 4caefc351b6e6ac42a1089a6eaac1ad4ad11f51d (merge driver; docs-only)

  • No conflict with the existing review gate, label-mirroring or CI-watcher rules. Closes #N feeds label mirroring. The agent-comms scope is limited to the same machine.
  • The read-only gh queries were run. The priority/* and no-priority listings work, the gh pr list --search "<n> in:body" check finds fix(gcp/cloudstorage): apply the currency unification to the Cloud Storage extractor #424 for 243, and all referenced labels exist. The write commands (claim, release) were not run.
  • The CR actionable (claim comments in the post-claim check) was fixed in ddf9202, and the thread is resolved. The last CR review was at ddf9202. CR does not cover this head.
  • Non-blocking: the body says --limit 500 but the file uses 1000. The body says the section is identical to cloud-commitments-mcp#62, but mcp#62 lacks the shared-login paragraph and --limit 1000. It is identical to cli#2202. <worker-id> is never defined, and it is unclear who counts as a maintainer for Taking over:.

Remaining merge gates: CI has not run (the fork workflows are awaiting maintainer approval). There is no linked issue, so there are no labels to mirror.

Thanks. Fixed the PR description (no new commit, head stays 4caefc3): it now says --limit 1000 with the search-cap note, and that the section is identical to cli#2202 while mcp#62 and platform#892 merged an earlier revision without the shared-login and search-cap refinements.

On <worker-id> and who counts as a maintainer: I've left the file as it is so the gate doesn't restart for a wording nit. If you'd like them spelled out (e.g. "any stable per-agent name, such as cc-platform-w3" and "anyone with write access"), I can add both in one commit here and bring mcp/platform in line in a small follow-up.
